She got kneed in the head by a referee and suffered a concussion. Her SummerSlam push was "up in the air", according to reports, but that was the speculation before she recently got cleared.

Sasha Banks has been cleared to work after what is believed to have been a concussion. She will be working in Winnipeg and LaCrosse, WI at the house shows this weekend. Not sure about TV. On the original plans for Money in the Bank, she was to have a match and to return to TV to build it.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon has compared Sasha Banks to Daniel Bryan in the past, considering her to be injury prone.

Sasha is currently sidelined with a reported concussion following a six women tag match last week that saw her accidentally kneed in the head by the referee. Banks was pulled from this past weekend’s live events, and was previously not featured on TV but it was for storyline reasons, and not because of injury.

As reported earlier, Banks has been cleared to return to the ring after she underwent concussion evaluations this week. She is expected to return at this week’s live events, and was in early plans for a Money In The Bank match, but it’s unknown if her injury has put a hold on those plans. Banks’ recent injury was just a fluke, but WWE will definitely err on the side of caution when it comes to these injuries, especially after Daniel Bryan’s situations. The Observer noted Banks being labeled as injury prone isn’t necessarily a ‘kiss of death’, but it could cause WWE to be leery about future plans.

Thanks for the update Sparty, came in to post that! Lulz at them being cautious though, I don't care as long as she gets the title for Summerslam. But as she said during her panel I attended above..."People said the same thing about WM32 as well."

There’s two things I can’t wait to see: the @nhlflames home opener & the 30 min Ironwoman match between @itsmebayley and @sashabankswwe. I trust they’ll have no problem doing justice to the significance of an Iron Match. I applaud both of them ahead of time for once again raising the bar for all women of wrestling (via Twitter)

Was a decent match for the time given, but commentary was AWFUL throughout the whole thing. Should have had this match on Smackdown with Mauro calling it, at least he takes matches seriously. Plus since this is her first match since April I believe, should have made a bigger deal out of it since it's her return to action as she's still undefeated.

That's him in the background clapping in the vest. Oh and its her fiancé as well! They met while she was wrestling the indies years ago, and he wisely tried to wife her up. He's a seamster now and does her (and others) ring gear for WWE now, that's why he's always on Xavier's gaming channel.

Was good to see her return, even if it was Deus Ex Machina style.

First this past Smackdown, we saw another match between Summer and The Boss.










Then we had a sit down interview with Michael Cole to try and build some continuity about why she's been gone for awhile.






I've been seeing a lot of hate regarding how Sasha has been thrust in the title picture without any build from other fans. Which is crazy to think, because she's not booking her story lines. This is the third time since her main roster debut that they dropped the ball on building some semblance of explaining her character to the people who don't watch NXT.

1. Night after Takeover:Brooklyn in the same arena, instead of building her up and talking about how the title loss affected her, her team was eliminated within minutes.

2. Night after Takeover:Respect. This match got a ton of publicity outside of the wrestling community because it was the first women's main event in a WWE PPV/Special. Did they tell that story to the casual audience and explain how big of a deal that was with interviews or crossover material? Nope, just casually mentioned by commentary once and quickly moved on.

3. WM32! At least this had some type of build for their match at WM. But giving Charlotte the win made no sense, like Booker T and Triple H at WM19 type of sense. Sasha was doing video diaries leading up to her match, and she was the last female to do those since AJ Lee. Her cousin goes into the HOF, which brings mainstream publicity. Even if you do have her lose, where was the explanation of how not winning the big one affected her character? We'll never know...because they promptly took her off TV.

Those are just 3 instances I can think of which they had perfect opportunities to explain what The Boss character is, and would justify her to get a title shot without receiving the backlash.

The Charlotte retaining wasn't the worst thing in the world imo. Charlotte and Ric had good heat on them at the time, and the build to that match was fairly lackluster. All those diaries were online only I think. But WWE goofed by not giving Sasha more TV time and especially promo time afterwards. Additionally, with Emma getting injured, I think WWE might have rushed giving Ric Flair the boot and put Dana Brooke into that spot. And let's face it, Dana is too green and she's not as interesting of a partner/sidekick for Charlotte as Ric was.

Sasha absolutely has to win the title before or at Summerslam, however. WWE also needs to either write her character better, or give her more stuff to say. The RAW segment was fine, I think, no thanks to Dana Botch Brooke, but that Cole interview.....it relies completely on Sasha's charisma to carry it. It's the most unnatural sounding conversation. Plus, we should be past, hey this girl really loves Eddie Guerrero stage.

Wholeheartedly agree! I think they're trying to hotshot this angle (and Shield triple threat) at Battleground is because the draft will probably separate Charlotte and Sasha. I didn't have a problem with the interview or the in-ring segment on Monday...other than it was heavily scripted. When left to her own devices, she had some of the best promo moments in NXT. I still chuckle at the Dizgoostin' and Ms. Piggy quips. I also couldn't stand how Charlotte gives her promos in all caps! You can project your voice without yelling, but other than that she's gotten so much better on the mic.

I agree with Rocco, Battleground or SummerSlam needs to be the time where Sasha wins. IF they don't put the title on her, then it will definitely be over for her.
