Help, need advice please. I am new to lifting.

Hi , i am new to lifting.. i have 4 children so i am unable to go to a gym, so i use free weights at home. I am following the Jamie Eason Livefit Trainer program and using free weight alternatives to the machine exercises. I started out in may actually just trying to lose baby weight and lost 25 lbs, then a few weeks ago started lifting and taking protein supplements to try to increase lean muscle mass vs losing more weight. I am still losing weight. I dont want to though, and i am not seeing a significant change in muscle.. i am 5'8" and currently 126.5 lbs which is too skinny, you can see my ribs.. any advice would be appreciated, is there a better program i should be following.. something else i should be doing. Thanks in advance.

It takes awhile to see the change in muscle growth. Be patient and keep at it.

In order to build/grow, you need to eat in a calorie surplus. You need to figure out your maintenance calories (should be somewhere around 1900-2000) and eat above those numbers.

Your training program should be focused around the basic compound lifts: bench, rows, overhead press, squats, deadlifts, etc...These are the important lifts needed to build a foundation, overall muscle balance and strong core.

I'm not a fan of the program you're running now. I feel there are better programs out there.
