Animal Whey

One thing I'm happy to say with Animal Whey is that none of the flavors I tried have had any resemblance to a chemical taste. Most brands will have a flavor or two that has that chemical taste. On that note though, I haven't tried a couple flavors still, so we will see.

Chocolate Mint was fantastic and had a great ratio of chocolate and mint. I'll have a review up today or tomorrow of it.

I'm not a fan of chocolate and mint together, but the sample of chocolate mint was delicious! If you already like those two together, it's the way to go. I can't get away from the CCC though...gotta go:

Only had Pumpkin Pie and Vanilla. P Pie tops Vanilla easy. Might have to try cinnamon bun. Never had a good cinnamon bun protein.

Made these bad boys with the Pumpkin Pie flavor though. Best protein pancakes I've ever made.

FYI, apparently Banana Creme was the most requested Trial Size, above all other flavors recently. No idea why that is though.

Its really hard to actually rate them, cause honestly not one of them has tasted bad in the slightest. It is by far the best tasting Banana protein I have had. Tastes just like a banana and not like laffy taffy banana.

Definitely a consideration. It's really, really hard to do a non-chemical flavored banana. Most taste artificial. It's that way with cherry and raspberry too in my experience. I just don't enjoy Banana but you guys will definitely get an order from me in Mocha as well as Frosted Cinnamon Bun. I always have a tub of CNC on hand because that and one other CNC are the only two of that flavor that I enjoy.

I’ve written about Animal Whey multiple times, so at this point there isn’t anything really new to say about the profile or the product line in general. The biggest point to get across is that Animal Whey is constantly one-upping itself in the flavor department, and is doing so by listening to their customer base. That last part is very important, as it’s something that a lot of companies don’t really do. With releases of selective flavors such as Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Mint, Animal is going out of their way to make sure that everyone’s taste buds, no matter how different, have a flavor to enjoy.

The latest addition is Mocha Cappuccino. Not being an avid coffee drinker, I really didn’t expect much from this flavor. To me, it seems that you either love (re: are obsessed) with coffee-flavored foods/treats, or you’re completely indifferent to them. Obviously, I fall into the latter category. With that in mind, Animal Whey’s “Mocha Cappuccino” absolutely crushed my coffee bias in the best way possible.



While there is a strong coffee taste, it’s the aftertaste that really sets this flavor over the top. Following the taste of a what I consider to be a light roast comes the rush of coffee creamer, which is reminiscent of a thick, full milk-like cream. Each time I’ve had this powder, that aftertaste has consistently been the best part; I even get it when I mix it oatmeal or bake with it.



As a devote lover of breakfast foods, this falls in perfectly with the flavors that I love. Pancakes, muffins, oatmeal…”Mocha Cappuccino” shines in all of them. If I had to pick one, I’d say that oatmeal is definitely the best medium to use this powder in. The coffee creamer aftertaste is amplified in the oats, but perhaps this is also due to the vanilla unsweetened almond milk I use in my oatmeal. Regardless, when I paired my oatmeal with an actual cup of coffee, I was taken back at how spot-on the flavoring really was.

Don’t stop Animal. Keep doing big things.

Overall - 9/10

Wtf why am I loving choc mint more and more, I am blazing through this sample tub. I don't go for mint things...

But then again I don't typically go crazy over coffee flavors, and well, scroll up.

True story: no flavor Animal Whey is below a 7/10 for me (Chocolate). I like to think I don't throw around high ratings for fun so that's pretty impressive to me.

Nah man, thank you at Animal/Universal. Companies are only as good as the people that represent them in my opinion. Big reason why I continually buy Animal/Universal products.
