Was wondering if anybody had any input on which one I should choose. I like the versatility of the 4 way bench but the way the seat cushion meets the back cushion in the 45 degree incline looks odd in pictures I've seen. This may be due to the fact that the 4 way only has a 15 degree seat cushion incline compared to the 30 degree of the 3 way? I've read through all the reviews of the 4 way bench that I could find with no mention of this. Was hoping someone that owns one or both could chime in and help me out.
Thanks.

Legend 4 Way or 3 Way Bench

I think it really just comes down to the decline for me. Otherwise they are similar for MY needs. No wobble, firm pads, same height, no pad gap issues, seats different shape but but neither would be more comfortable. I never use decline, so for me it doesn't matter. Bought the 4 way new with my rack, found the 3 way local.
Flat bench sucks as it's 19", custom cut needed. Sold it for that reason.

Nothing to sniff at. Or sniff.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Very nice looking benches. Glad to hear that both are as comfortable. My main concern had to do with whether or not I would feel "locked" into place in the incline position with the 4 way since the seat cushion only inclines to 15 degrees. Also, the only other concern is, I'm 6'1", was wondering if the back cushion is long enough to support my head?

I got the 3 way and couldn't be happier. I thought back to all the years that I had a commercial gym membership and I only ever used the decline bench once or twice. There's plenty of ab exercises that don't require a decline bench. Lastly, for a short time I had a different FID bench with the large butt pad and I hated it.

Legend 4 Way or 3 Way Bench
I vote for 3 way, it is a rock solid bench!
Quick question for you all that owns the Legend 3 way - in incline position (about 45 degrees), do you guys experience difficulty tilting the seat pad all the way? I bought a legend 3 way last year around March and didn't really use incline until now and had discover that, please share your thoughts
Thanks,

Pop Pin
Was looking at how the pop pin works on the bench, does the pop pin suppose to go all the way through the hole? I noticed on mine it seems to go all the way through except on the last two highest incline positions.
I attached pics to what I'm referring too. 1st pic is at 15 degrees, 2nd is at 45 degrees, 3rd is at 85 degrees.

In the photo of 85 degrees, I can't tell how far it is engaged. My GUESS is that the half moon is not completely straight. Could have a slight warp in the half moon, a slight angle where it attaches to the back pad, a slight angle where the back pad attaches to the hinge, or a combination of those things.

No idea. You have the bench so you're in a better position to make that call. Does it seem secure? If it's a problem, you might check the squareness and straightness of the parts first since there may be a simpler and more practical solution.

I agree with more barbell it only seems logical that the half-moon has a bit of a bend to it. Or is slightly offset. That being said I just stood the seat all the way up on mine so that the half-moon comes out beyond the catch pin holder and gave it a tug at the bottom. The catch pin now protrudes all the way through on all the positions. Good catch.

I will set the short part of the bench (the seat) before I put the long part (the back pad) up.

My pop pin extends through 1/8" minimum at all angle positions. Your half moon is not bent, it is just not perfectly square where it bolts to the back pad frame. Loosen those bolts and insert a thin metal shim of some kind and tighten the bolts. It won't take much to keep the half moon up against the pop pin housing at all angles.
