First of all, Saudi controls OPEC so hard it's not even funny. I can assure you OPEC would not do anything with the backing of Saudi. In fact, other OPEC nations who do not have a cost of production as low as Saudi are complaining about the low crude prices.

And secondly, the Saudis did not undercut oil prices. Oil prices are set by the market. They simply stated that they will maintain their current level of production after the oil prices were already plunging and they were asked whether they will respond by cutting production to support oil prices. And in this fickle panicky market, that was enough to send oil prices down even further.

Why would the Saudis, or OPECs, agree to this? So what if their production cost is lower and they are still profitable at current crude prices? Their revenue from crude sales just got cut by 50%. This is a big deal for governments who rely predominantly on crude revenue to run their countries.

And why would the U.S. agree to this as well? Do you know how many marginal shale gas producers that will go under if crude stays below $80/barrel? What would the impact of those bankruptcies have on the high-yield market, and those small banks that extend loans to these oil companies? If the bankruptcies start spreading to the small banks, what will that translate to America's already shaky confidence on banks in general? What would that mean for regions such as North Dakota and Texas that have seen a job boost primarily due to the booming shale oil/gas industry?

That's exactly what's happening right now. The price of crude is so low that many North American (Canada and US) shale companies aren't being profitable and are being forced to shut down. The difference is, globally, we can withstand the low prices because with lower crude, our consumption goes up in the GDP equation because saved money from lower gas prices means more money to spend on stupid phucking chit like Fitbit's and Gym Shark clothing.

Our debt isn't as heavily balanced on our oil production as countries such as Russia, Venezuela, etc. so those are the country's that are in deep chit right now with OPEC driving the price down. The Saudi's can sustain themselves on some crazy low price per barrel because they have a ridiculously large amount of savings.

-Russias law actually only deems public displays of homosexuality banned, not to advertise it to children.
- Ukraine gov't signs a deal with Russia for trade agreement instead of siding with EU, suddenly Ukraine is now having a rebel uprising, just like lybia, syria and egypt. how weird: The police are ordered not to fire on protesters, eventually the president flees the capital to russia and Ukraine is over run by rebels.
- Russia is concerned, they move troops to secure naval bases in crimea
- West propaganda exclaims that Putin is invading Ukraine.
-Russia refuses to back down to USA, and accuses usa of being behind MH370 (odd i know)
- Obama keeps talkin and not actin.
- More sanctions: Putin goes and makes deals with China instead, Russia also supplies Ukraine with natural gas for free, as well as continues selling to the EU nations as they don't have options.
- OPEC decides to artificially manipulate the price of oil but continuing to produce when it's not required, forcing the value down, thus crippling Russias economy.
