My roommate and his friends play Day Z almost every day. They all love it and constantly talk about how much better it's getting. So, maybe you just haven't played it since some of the more recent patches?

The game is still in Aapha right? I think you need to temper your expectations. As far as laggy/clunk etc, my roommate runs the game across 3 monitors and it looks pretty good. I never see him lag, I have seen him glitch from time to time, but what can you expect from a game in alpha...

Im not hating bro, im calling it what it is, in my opinion. The game has been out for years, and nothing much has changed. But yeah, its still a "alpha" lmao.

As a non PC gamer, I don't understand the obsession behind Steam. Buy a bunch of games you're never going to play, obsessing over 'sales' that sell the same chit over and oevr again for years. And continue to spend your money on games you're never going to play because Steam is having a 'sale' where everything is the same price as it was 4 months ago.

the point you brought up is true and most people would agree with you. But the cool thing is getting games for like $2.00 that are normally $20 that you want to get but that price was just too much. Also you might not even waste any money at all, if you sell in game items and trading cards on steam market you can make money fast, just from playing games.

both Civ and Civ:BE will be on sale guaranteed. Civ BE was 30-40% off like a month after it was released.

Steam is a central hub on your desktop where you can: load and play all your games, buy games for dirt cheap, participate in the community, sell/trade market items, etc...

People buy the games and never play them because they are cheap and accessible. Honestly, Steam is a piece of software that offers everything a console does and more. It's great.
