they all want to travel.
you tell em you are saving for a home, and give a budget if you are going to travel. say if you want to travel for like 3 weeks then we need to make this amount of money last, those 3 weeks and not a penny more. Or we can do a nice 1-2 week with this amount

Travelling is overrated, you're going to spend a lot of money for what, 2 weeks of enjoyment? Also, it won't even be 2 weeks of nothing but enjoyment, because travelling is a giant hassle.
Where as a house is an investment, and you won't lose it after 2 weeks.
For the people saying you can buy a house later, what happens when your girl leaves you after you've already been on vacation and you are still living at your parent's house? Do you really think 2 weeks of travel is going to satiate your girl's needs for travel, or will she just want to go visit somewhere else by the time you have saved up more money?
And how do your parents feel about you living at home, but wanting to spend money on luxuries?
There is also nothing to stop you from travelling later on in life as long as you don't have kids.
I don't feel like there is anything to be gained by travelling except to temporarily make your girl happy.-Voted Gary Johnson in 2012 and Doing it Again 2016-

This guy got it.
A lot of divorces are due to financial reasons. Seems you and your GF live a totally different lifestyle, although I get where she's coming from.
But if she's always like this, then you 2 might not be compatible in the long run.
But at the same time OP, you are quite young. Live a little b/c once you set mortgage on that house, you'll be slaving away paying it off.Not gonna make it crew
Hope to be dead b4 60 crew.
No marriage crew (at least with western girls)
I keep it real, G.

LOL because a house isn't a huge hassle at all, and once he makes his down payment he can just coast through life right??? Stop trying to make the grass on the other side seem greener, you pretentious loser
I know exactly where you're coming from, because I used to be like you... I now work and travel at the same time, and (despite the headaches) travel has made my life much better
(in b4 someone quotes my location... it's fake, I rustle the jimmies of UK brahs on here with it)

Traveling is actually a really important thing, especially if you know the history behind what you're seeing.
You should travel with a reasonable budget AND go NC. You know if you go places with her, she's gonna make you spend more than you would otherwise. That way, you can still be financially responsible and see other parts of the world.*Beer Crew* *Bourbon and Scotch Crew* *Cardamom in My Coffee Crew* *Catbrah Crew* *Chicago Crew* *Coffee Crew* *Cologne Crew* *Dates Older Women Crew* O===}DBZ Crew{===O *Egyptian Crew* *First Beat the Elite 4 While on the Toilet Crew* *Maghrebi Crew* *Mediterranean Crew* *Middle-Eastern Crew* *Miscers Who Lift Crew* *Miscs While on the Toilet Crew* *Takes Too Long on the Toilet Crew*

It honestly sounds like you're a synonym of responsibility and maturity, however, how can you not have the passion to travel? In all honesty I live for traveling and the time to explore the world is when you are in your twenties; Experience cultures so far from your own, experience different lifestyle, different ways of living, memories that will stay with you until the day you die. Not sure how things are in the states, but in the UK a lot of guys are going to be stuck in their 9-5 jobs and not looking at retirement until mid-late 50s, early 60s. Plenty of time to be a boring son of a bitch..
Sure, being able to make a large deposit on a house is desirable, but you have to manage expenses and if you have a job with a solid income, paying off a mortgage should not be a problem.
It looks like the two of you have conflicting views and you certainly shouldn't do something with her for the sake of it. Live your life how you want to live it.++ Positive Crew ++

Hmm lets see
Travel the world for 3 weeks and see new people and experience new things
Or
Buy a house to die in
