Ok so here's the thing brahs. I'm trying to save up for a house but my girlfriend wants to travel. I still live at home so get to save a lot of money. I realize this is a once in a lifetime chance so I have to take advantage of it now.
My girlfriend is YOLO and lives it up renting an apartment, saves no money for the future. Now she's constantly whining for me to go travelling with her a few weeks next year.
Sure I'm not a total hermit and said I want to travel for 1 week. But then she gets mad and says she wants to travel at least 2 weeks and another week a little later in the year... WTF do I do misc, do I find the cheapest holliday possible or put my foot down and say no?

Don't listen to the two above me. Trust me, houses are so much better than apts. Save up for that house and cut your girl lose. Tony clearly puts it on the pedestal anyways. As has been stated you probably won't be dating her forever so a house is a much better investment than this chick. Plus her not saving is a sign of things to come brah.

I didnt even contemplate buying a house just until recently (30). Spent my entire 20's renting apartments, partying, and travelling. Cant say I regret it a single bit either. Had all my fun and saw everything I wanted, now I can settle down more.
Edit- Just wanna add I never did any of this **** just because some girl wanted to do it. **** that.

You need to take a good hard look at what you just said. You are financially responsible and she is not, this is going to be a strain on your relationship forever. You need to sit her down and see if your financial goals can coincide symbiotically and if they can't you need to move on because this will be a serious stressor in your life otherwise.

Just travel or else you'll be one of those people that regret it when you're 40+ not being able to travel in your prime. Right now you're saving up for a house, then you'll be saving up for wedding/kids/school tuition/elderly parents/etc. Travelling just gets harder later in life. Do it now.
I'm saving up for a house too but I'll be taking a month off to go to asia in feb. The trip will run me <5k, that won't make or break my abilities to buy a place.***Canadian Crew***

travel you dumb kent. you might not have the chance when you have dat morgage and all the bills that go with it. why cement yourself in one location with a house at such a young age?
trust me, you will appreciate the experiences you have had far more than the objects you own later on in life. experiences>>>>>materials. go travel manCertified 1200 ng/l T
