I wasn't aiming to "detox" so much as just get more greens in. I couldn't lift for a while cuz of surgery so have been running, taking EC 2x a day, and drinking this every morning after my run. I've dropped about 24lbs in 5 weeks or so... but the truth is... I feel fukkin great. it's weird. I have to wake up at 4:45 to run and I can hop right out of bed. I get like 5 hours of sleep and still have energy for days. Usually I eat pretty unhealthy and feel sluggish... but I'll drink this nasty sht the rest of my life. Highly recommend

Same here. Veggies are for real. I like berries in my shakes as well. I've got a nutribullet.
This is why If it fits your macros is BS. Consider the source of your foods. 100 grams of sugar from high crustose corn syrup versus berries is different."I don't say goodbye until the pain says hello. That's how you know the set is done." -Greg Plitt

Vitamix has been a wonderful addition to life.
A good base for smoothies is some kale, spinach and a jar of quality preserves (tons of good flavors - mangos, peaches, etc). Then take it from there. I usually add a bit of ice at the end to make it sort of slushie.
That and a small bowl of blueberries every morning makes a noticeable difference in my overall mood and feeling. It's not so much that you notice it while you're doing it - it's that you notice feeling crappier when you stop for a week or two.
The misc tremendously undervalues micronutrients. All they care about are macros. IIFYM is great so long as you are also getting plenty of the vitamins and nutrients (ie relatively "clean" for lack of a better word).Übermensch

You know i have been reading and hearing about this type of thing for years. The drop in your weight alone is a good reason to try it, but the added energy( less caffeine) more antioxidants is probably the best reason. After the holiday, i think i will give it a shot. Where did you find that recipe?

that'd be fine. If that's all you're using, mix it with OJ or pineapple juice to make it taste decent. Spirulina is my favorite addition - has a chit ton of benefits.
I think all the ingredients are like 30-35 bucks a week. not bad. better than what I was spending on manhattan breakfasts
I kinda made the recipe up. I looked up all the smoothies people liked, discarded taste, and kept the sht people cited as beneficial. I was hoping the blueberries and starwberries would help with taste but they don't make a dent lolyou should read this
