    Red face Finally benched a plate

    After taking about a 7 month break from lifting, I finally got back into it about 1 month ago, benching a pitiful 95. Finally for the first time I benched a plate, feelsgoodman. Baby steps. Hopefully it'll be 2 soon. Any beginner stories/milestones from you guys?

    Nice job man!

    I started lifting last year. My bench started off at 125 max, and I worked my way up to 140. Took me the entire year... It was pathetic lol but I took 2 months off for the summer, and came back strong. I was able to bench 150 for my 1 rep in September. I got on a bench specific program, and brought my bench up to 205lbs in just 6 weeks. Unfortunately those strength gains didn't last and now I'm back down to 190 :/ I'm taking 2 weeks off for Christmas and gonna get back into it again on a new program. My goal is to bench 315 by June of 2016.

    I started benching 90 pounds for 8-10 reps,now I bench 165 for 6. Can probably bench 225 for one,but I haven't tried. Keep at it,the strength will come

    Nice man! Saddest moment though is as a teen with my body type is when your gains max out and you have to wait to grow naturally with puberty. Right around 185 I was plateaued for 3 months then went up to 195 like a idek how long without maxing out and now 200 but just barely... Sitting at lean 145

    GJ! Baby steps are good. I started at 95..... and got stuck under the bar :$ So when I benched I got to 1 plate I was happy as heck too!

    I still remember the first time i benched 225.

    When i started training I had made it my goal to get to 225 on the bech within 1 year... I ended up making it within the first 5-6weeks of training lol

    Haha I remember my first 1 plate I thought "now I've joined the big boys"

    Literally just PRd on 2 plates this week for one, but this time I know just how far away from the big boys I really am!
    I expected the clouds to open and a golden staircase to form with zyzz to come down to me playing a harp and tell me how sweet my rep was. In reality none of that happened, the only difference between before and after was my face was bright red and I had a little spit on my tshirt....

    Keep benching brah and pushing your limits! I started benching at 16 with about 105 for 10 and plateaued for a bit(weak chest genetics) at 145, lifted on and off and now about years later I am benching 165x6

    Congrats man recently maxed at 325 and started from 125. Its a marathon not a race just eat right, stay consistent, program correctly, and get enough rest and you will be making some serious gains. I remember when I was around a 160 bench I tried to lift off 225 and it literally wouldn't even budge a inch, then later when I did a force rep at it with a 180ish max it felt beyond heavy and unachievable, but now I can carry on a conversation while repping 225 the gains will come fast bro.

    The day I hit 315 I was beyond happy felt so accomplished and proud of myself couldn't wait to tell my dad.

    Set goals and don't let anything get in your way of them. If you need any help feel free to ask man.
