Turn to channel 7 brahs huge story developing, hostages are put up against the windows and look like they are being forced to press a flag against the window, the bottom of the flag looked like Arabic writing and a the cameras spotted a man with a headband behind the hostages. Surrounding area is being evacuated!

A man is holding several people hostage at a cafe in Martin Place in Sydney.
There are hostage standing with their hands up at all the windows in the popular Lindt chocolate shop, which has two or three entrances. There is also a black and white flag being held up in a window.
Staff in shop aprons can be seen with their hands on the windows.
Police offices have guns drawn.
The chocolate shop is 30 or 40 metres from the Channel 7 offices so they have cameras trained on the building. The newsroom at Channel 7 have been evacuated.
Reports that trains around the area have been stopped and roads are blocked.
UPDATE:
An Islamic State flag is flying inside the window of a busy cafe in Sydney's Martin Place where at least one gunman is holding several people hostage.
