Afaik L-tryptophan is not more effective, it is somewhat safer though.
The pathway of producing serontonin is as follows: L-trypto --> 5-htp --> serotonin.
Since L-trypto is an amino acid and 5-htp is the direct precursor to serotonin, overdosing on L-trypto is less likely to happen while it is theoretically possible to overdose on 5-htp.
It probably won't happen though since you'd need to take a ridiculous amount of 5-htp. Still, I'd advise you not to take more than the recommended daily intake.
But my advice, take 5-htp when you're starting to feel down during the day. When you're taking it before sleep the produced serotonin will (partially) be used to make melatonin, which won't help you with your state of mind.

I work myself into a frenzy and isolate myself with things that break under my fury (aka anything not made of diamond) Then I invoke the gods of iron and my Nordic ancestors to go legendary super saiyin broly, smash everything in sight calm down immediately go into the fetal postion cri until I chit myself and use the tears to make my ben and jerry's ice cream binge afterwards into sea salt ice cream, after hating myself thoroughly I text all my ex's and ask "why didn't we work out?" torture myself for the next five days with their responses, get on misc ask for advice on landing an hbb then I see one at the mall, supreme gentleman her, then I ask myself if I would lik sum fuk, get rejected. Pull out a hand grenade, put it in my mouth, pull the pin, run into the nearest Justin beiber fan club, take out as many as possible with me. Now im dead.

I also have crash by pro supps, which has both 5htp and l tryptophan, but not sure how much of each cuz it's a prop blend, also I only take 1 along with 100mg of 5htp at night....so I may only be getting a small amount of l tryptophan since the bottle says u can take up to 3
Thank u though I'll look at new moodCall me Sally

I lift.
There is also this little spot I used to go down to, in the bush near my house. I used to spend time there as a kid so I'd trek down there again and just chill. Usually lifted thy spirits somewhsatNovember 30 2013: 165.9KG (366LB) Planetary Mode

if I'm feeling depressed I tend to either hit the gym or play video games.
was upset about something just last week. Popped in Mario kart 8 and played for like 3 hours non-stop. Felt way better man.img
edit: Age 31
I know and I wouldn't stop playing games for a few years yet. maybe never.¥¥¥¥¥Dirty¥¥¥¥¥South¥¥¥¥¥Crew¥¥¥¥¥

Lift, go for a drive to the beach or the mountains.
honestly, lifting n driving is rlly my only pleasures in life. when i'm stressed, i'll go for a drive to the gym(i'll pick a gym like an hour away) n lift away to music blasting
sometimes, when im super stressed i save up like $300 n go camping to a remote location
drive to the beach n just watch the waves, or go fishing. nothing better than a drive with some Monster and a cigarette.ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

I've got a m8 who is always depressed about his appearance. Trust me man there are people out there with missing limbs, have terminal illnesses, live in poverty etc

“We pay too much tribute to a few human insects when we let their wrong-doing paralyze our faith in humanity. It is a lie of the cynics that says ‘all men are ungrateful,’ a companion lie to ‘all men have their price.’ We must trust humanity if we would get good from humanity. He who thinks all mankind is vile is a pessimist who mistakes his introspection for observation; he looks into his own heart and thinks he sees the world.”

I try to think my way through it and talk myself down from feeling like such a chit. Cognitive behavioural therapy is GOAT--when I feel anxious/depressed, I focus on my surroundings and question my negative thoughts. I have way less anxiety as a result.
If CBT doesn't work, I'll go to the gym and break a PR.
If I still feel off after, I'll knock back a few beer or a vodka-lime.
