How difficult is it to truly be friends with a female?

i swear everytime i try to be friends with a chick, one of us gets feels, or already had them, then gets pissed at the other person when it doesnt work resulting in North Carolina

But I've had friendships that formed out of circumstance and we weren't each other's type, so it worked out and we easily remained friends.
