I feel like my life would be complete. Like God reached down and stroked the nape of my neck with his index finger. Pretty much like how Mel B from Spice Girls felt when they told her she could rap a little in the midst of one of their smash hits.
Sammy please let me setup, print, trim, mount and ship a tiled Levrone poster piece to you. I need this.A pattern in the chaos.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions until the MRI comes back bud. Two years ago I would have bet my mother's house that I had a rotator/labrum/AC joint tear. It was something that I had gotten over time from my early years doing ego-inflated heavy flat bench like a typical moron with bad form (elbows flared, touching too high, bouncing), zero mobility, and poor preventative measures (no rotator cuff accessory work etc).
This finally culminated when one day I was barely able to lift my arm to the front or the side without excruciating pain in the shoulder complex. I went to an Ortho who did what I guess was a standard rotator cuff tear test which was: I had to hold my arm out straight in front of me, supinate my wrist so that my palm was facing upward, and then he applied downward force to my wrist area. There was definitely some pain, but he assured me he didn't think it was a RC tear because the arm typically gives out completely in that scenario.
He then told me I wasn't out of the woods yet and I got the MRI which revealed I had a slight impingement of the AC joint due to my genetic skeletal structure, underdeveloped rotator cuff muscles (I believe there is 4), and a very bad case of tendonapothy which is basically tendonitis, and a sh*t ton of inflammation. At the time I was taking everything but the kitchen sink for joint support from fish oil at 4 grams a day, glucosamine/chondroitin, and Cissus, and my next option was a cortisone shot if my condition didn't improve with rest, but that was a last resort, and one I luckily didn't have to take.
Long story short I basically dumped flat bench from my routine and replaced it with flat dumbbell press which is my favorite movement now for overall chest development (probably something that could have been fixed with form but f*ck it, I had heard enough horror stories about torn pecs, shoulders etc and didn't care how much I bench pressed anymore), took a more proactive approach to mobility/RC work, and reassessed my training.
These days I do RC work on days that I'm not pressing because it tends to fatigue me pretty good, and mobility work before every workout even if its just a little shoulder flossing, a few sets of wall slides, or external/internal rotation stuff. I dumped all the joint supplements, warm up a lot, sometimes pre-exhaust etc, and my shoulder has never felt better and my chest grew immensely.
I still think flat bench has it's place, and you can't argue the fact that it's been a staple for so many great chested bodybuilders, but it's something you need to perfect and take your time with. It's just not suited for me structurally, however I do like incline smith machine or incline barbell in a rack with a seat that allows for about a 30 degree incline (higher than that and my delts take over).
Stay positive bro. I know this was a bloody novel, but I also know it would have helped me when I was scouring the forums when my shoulder was mangled to have someone give me a little confidence boost. There's nothing worse than being injured, not knowing the problem, and just googling possible diagnoses that tell you your arm will likely fall off while you wait for an MRI approval or to see a specialist. Thanks for this Sir. I am already getting better after 1.5 weeks of therapy, there isn't really gonna be any need of MRI anytime soon. It was only edema, inflammation ,regular fatigue and also high mental stress level , coupled with occurrence of protective spasms in the back in last 3-4 months. No tears as such and no skeletal injury too.I had been spending too much time in the library, with posture fkkd up. Its getting better. And I do not do flat bench already , slight decline all the way for me.
I had been on ****load of anti-inflammatory, painkillers etc for long time, deep tissue work and physiotherapy only gave temporary relief , even tried acupressure, holistic healing in last 6-8 months ( been out of gym since I got my first spasm ). Finally Ayurvedic treatment ( ancient vedic medical study of using herbs) has helped me dramatically in last 2 weeks. I am paying for chronic sports injuries from schooldays and too long study hours lately. Weird thing is that none of the injuries happened due to weightlifting. I hope everything is good from now on in life. Injuries mess up with studying and in general, with mood and behavior too. Looking forward to getting fit n strong again so I can get back to the gym and lose all the fat n gain my power back!!!
Once again thanks for the pointers and advice.Honours in Physics

^Lol. John does look pretty unhealthy though. How is he making 600k per year ? Being a contest prep coach and trainer ? Or does he also do something else
And I don't see how Bostin will ever be a top competitor if what he's taking now has led to the physique he has now..
. Either way ive really been wanting to be a prep coach and trainer on the side later on..Last edited by SammyJr; 03-23-2015 at 07:36 PM.
