I've been on the generic Fin 1.25mg per day for about 6 months now, and haven't really noticed anything. Maybe a slight thickening of the hair that is already there, but it can still look pretty thin at the hairline. However, I doubt anyone really sees results at the 6 months mark, and I'm definitely going to give it at least 6 more months before I do any kind of re-evaluation.

yes, use a pill cutter and cut into 1/6ths, doesn't have to be accurate.
don't plan to ever stop taking it, 96ish%+ chance that I won't get sides, probably closer to 99.9 since I haven't experienced any already. I'd say taking that risk is a no brainer.
You have to take it forever to keep what you already have or gain on it. taking a pill every day to keep hair is not an inconvenience. plus, there have been tons of days i've missed just because i've simply forgot. missing a couple days here and there does not mean all of your hair is going to fall out next week.Type 1 ginger that took MT2 for 5+ years and now getting mistaken for African descent crew:

Most derms will recommend at least 12 months before re-evaluating whether it works for you or not, so I'd def give it 6 more months before jumping to conclusions. Even keeping what you have at the 6 month mark is considered progress.
Not sure, that might be better asked in the big hair loss thread.
Most places that do transplants will recommend you being on fin for at least a year before doing so, otherwise you will continue to progress to being bald and lose every natural hair on your head and leave only the transplanted ones standing. Not a good look if you can imagine.Type 1 ginger that took MT2 for 5+ years and now getting mistaken for African descent crew:

aw fuk bye
17) Tell us your story, in your own words, about your Finasteride usage and side effects experienced while on/off the drug.
I had used propecia a number of years ago for a few months but had never given it more than a few months, this time I decided I was going to give it a proper chance since my hair was really annoying me.
On the 5th day I noticed while I was sitting at my PC my penis went numb all of a sudden, I thought I had my legs crossed or something as simple as that, I also noticed I was starting to urinate alot more. I continued taking for another 2 weeks as per the description on the label, but my libido kept decreasing. I came of propecia, within about a week I really started to notice that my junk wasnt connected to my brain anymore. I remember thinking to myself, **** I havent watched porn in over 2 weeks (WTF!) and panicing, at that point I turned on some porn and remember feeling like 'I didnt even have a desire to watch this', I started to think to myself maybe I'm just over thinking this and so I just tried to relax for a while. Within a week everything came back to normal and I breathed a sigh of relief, until I crashed 1 week later. I became super anxious and had a huge panic attack - one of the ones where you think you are dying (i wish i had have died).
Since then I've seen 5 doctors, 1 psychiatrist, 1 endocrinologist all of which insist I'm either depressed or overthinking the situation and once I relax and stop reading propeciahelp.com things will return to normal.
I've lost everything over this, my personality, emotions, my business, girlfriend, family and friends - I still have my family and friends but since I'm an emotionless zombie I don't connect with any of them anymore. I used to have a pretty big personality and always up for a laugh, now I'm a social recluce filled with social anxiety, I dont enjoy anything I used to. Losing my gf over this is definitely the hardest thing.
Every night I go to sleep I wish that I dont wake up, I really don't want to exist on this planet anymore, like I said I've lost everything over this I don't see any sort of future for myself now. Everyday I'm haunted by my decision of taking this poison and think of how different life would be if I had never touched it.
Where do I go from here? I think of suicide on a daily basis now, not because I'm depressed or suicidal but because I really don't have a reason to be about here anymore and I don't see that changing.

Your DHT is correlated to your testosterone production, but not your free testosterone levels. Because if you convert more testosterone to DHT, you will obviously have less testosterone and more DHT. However, the more testosterone you produce, the more DHT you will have.

if srs, then he is the 0.0001%. my condolences go out to him, chit sucks. by no means is this to be expected though
every drug has it's bottom 0.1% of dumb chit happening. accutane is a hell of a miracle drug itself and a lot more popular than finasterside, millions of people have better lives because of it. you can bet your ass you can find horror stories from people taking it though.Type 1 ginger that took MT2 for 5+ years and now getting mistaken for African descent crew:

das not it mane
balding is the number 1 cause for male depression, i can confirm after looking at the back of my head with a hand mirror one day. i see a ton of miscers complaining about balding genetics though when there is an inexpensive "fix" out there, relatively risk free.Type 1 ginger that took MT2 for 5+ years and now getting mistaken for African descent crew:

Honestly, if you take the drug fearing that you wont get hard anymore, and are constantly thinking about how you hope you don't have a limp dick... wouldn't that affect your erections regardless of whether the drug is actually doing anything?
Its like when you are about to smash a new girl and you are nervous/anxious and HOPING you get hard then.... nope still limp.
Pretty sure most of the dudes that complain about limp dick sides were just mentally deflating their boners to a pretty heavy extent.
Just my 2c, I'm planning on taking fin really soon.
PS: Im on Roaccutane at the moment, and the amount of sides were ridiculous when I read up about the drug. So many horror stories and negative reviews on the net as well. My advice is to look at the stats, not user reviews on the internet - because negativity is king, you shouldnt let some other random persons subjective experience with a drug (with no evidence) skew your views.

Started taking 2.5mg every other day since August of this year. Only since a week or two ago have I noticed a very slight decrease in shedding, which I can't even contribute to the finasteride. How long should I wait? Another month or two?
Also has anyone here ever done any cycling while on finasteride? I'd assume it would cause your "stamina" to increase, but was wondering if someone had input to answer this question? Is it possible your "stamina" would stay the same?

I've been on it for 16 months and from what i recall I shed pretty bad the first 1-2 months then it slowed down and seen a ton of improvement. held that for months 3-6 and by the 7th month I seen a huge shed that almost put me back to baseline (close to first pic). and it was another uphill battle from there, shedding on and off for the rest of the months to where I am now.
Basically, don't let your sheds dictate where you stand on hair progress. It's common to shed on and off while on it, but if you keep taking it consistently you more than likely will keep your overall hair count (give or take) and possibly regrow some.
Some months I wake up and I shed so bad I swear I'll be bald in two weeks, some months I can't pull a single strand out. Don't worry about it.Type 1 ginger that took MT2 for 5+ years and now getting mistaken for African descent crew:
