UPDATE Post #61
Basics of my job:
I'm a recruiter for a big company (won't mention for confidentiality purposes). I touch all kind of positions, going from the janitor all the way to Directors.
I was recently working on a welder position, and we were at the stage of making an offer.
My boss decided, for some reason, to extend the process and asked me to have a look at a random resume.
That said resume had no qualifications, so I screened it out.
She insisted...that's where I found out it was her husband.
I'm thinking : I'll do a courtesy interview and we'll take him out.
When I asked her when would be his availability, she replied (and i quote): you can do an interview if you want, but he'll still end up being hired.
Long story short, immediate supervisor becomes aware of the situation, he then aware his boss (a director) who gets really pissed at me for going along with the process. Now in the past, i got **** on for asking too many questions and raising issues on similar cases, but this time Misc, my jimmies were rustled a whole ****ing lot.
This goes against my work ethic, against my values, and also, there is no way I was taking **** again from a ****ty and ungrateful boss.
I shared the story with a colleague, who was mind=blown by the whole situation, and proposed to write a letter to the CEO.
We sent it at 5pm.
Now we wait.
I might be in serious trouble, but nothing will ever happen if I don't get my hands dirty.

Snitches get stitches. Stay safe OP, I hope your angus is peppered
Edit - although I agree w/what you did, I hope you somehow reported it anonymously. It's going to be your word against hers, and hopefully she doesn't pull the insubordination card or run you into the ground.** MISC EMPIRE CREW - MISC: RJ - MikeATL @ USA 1**

A welder? I assume that's pretty low at your company OP. The CEO definitely doesn't have time or the patience to deal with stupid **** like that. I imagine that's what HR departments are for, which I assume is related to but distinct from your recruitment department. I think you goofed hard on this one and let your emotions get to you.

Depends on the culture of the organisation...in most places you will be let go at some point (CEO's are often the most corrupt)

OP, best of luck brah. You've got balls, which is something few people seem to have these days when it comes to things that involve getting their paycheck.
It should be fairly easy to see what's up, if there is any proof at all that her husband was applying for the position. She had a vested interest in the story happening the way you say it did, and you seem to have no vested interest in lying.
