You dodged a bullet op.
Had a similar thing happen in my younger dating days. Fortunately gal tells me before things got too serious.
I did NOT proceed on that issue alone.
I imagine it's hard to tell your potential partners about this sort of stuff because most will bolt.
If you had caught it, you'd be in that position... it would suck in more ways than one.

I know a girl that has it. She recently got a new boyfriend. All seems grand.?????? Did she tell him? Does he know? Does he not care? Do they not have sex (pfft ya right). It blows my mind. Maybe because my mother planted it in my head for ever how disgusting diseases are and how easy it is to catch them. I wasn't even allowed to drink from water fountains as a kid. IDK. Sheet scares me.

Regardless of bagging your johnson up or not, herpes is transferred through skin contact and can be caught from the skin surrounding the genitals even when you think your being safe by using a condom!
I seriously bet most of us have had a run in with a girl or two that have it, but probably were not shedding or having an outbreak.
Herpes causes no real health complications at all, besides a few sores which clear up and do not scar in most cases once the skin goes back to normal colour.
Much worse stds to be caught, yes all though they can be 'cured' they pose real health problems (infertile), and don't even show symptoms at all (chlamydia)
There all sheet and we all take a risk when we have da sexors, but i do think herpes gets made out to be alot worse then it is..

The stats on STDs are far off. 1/4 girls have herpes?
I've raw dogged over a 100 and have never caught anything AT ALL.
Sure ( no racist ) I only had sex with whites and mixed whites or like italian / lebanese, whom I guess statistically have less STDs, but I don't believe the 25%. That's some hardcore scare factor to make people use protection ( not passing judgement on if it's a good thing or not, just saying )

IDK if the cold in canada kills the virus or something ( not srs ) but I've known about 3 women who had it in my entire life and by knowing I mean like someone told me they knew someone they knew had it.
I was certain I'd have chlamydia or some other extremely mild STDs before I would get tested I mean, I really didn't ever give a **** about protection, came out 100% clean...

Jesus christ another thread of paranoid introverted miscers.
No wonder you kunts have no sex life, what are you waiting for?
The girl of your dreams just to pop up when you are 30 with no sexual experience?
Life isn't complicated, once your gone you are gone forever and it's f*cking short, you will 100% miss your life if you play it safe.
I'm not saying go full yolo and f*ck anything either.

GJDM OP. repped. almost ran into a herp derp scare and thought my life would be in shambles since I stress a **** ton. HSV1 is manageable (the oral type..though it can also be genital). HSV2 is worse and in some people can happen on a monthly basis.
I wish nothing but the worst on people who 1. don't get tested 2. spread it 3. aren't open about everything sexually before doing the deeds. thats gross jeff. No person/relationship is worth contracting an illness for.
Some facts for yous:
- herpes is a life long latent virus. it can hit you whenever you get sick/stressed
- it's spread when your skin sheds (so condoms don't protect you 100%)
- the "anti-viral" meds you're put on don't clear it; they just decrease the severity of the outbreak/immune response to the virus
- both type 1 and type 2 can effect your genital area (yes you can spread it orally)
- ~25% of sexually active persons have herpes. most (~80%) are symptomless and can spread it without knowing.
- you can get blood tests done to see whether you have type 1 or type 2 (usually take ~3 weeks to develop antibody response)
- if you've never had it, and roughly 1-2 weeks after doing the deeds have itching, a nasty rash, fever, malaise...then you caught it. 1st outbreaks are the most severe...again, not many show this response.
- HSV is not the same as HPV...HPV has numerous type and is a fricken wart. Both nasty as fun
- theres been an increase in prevalence due to tinder hookups etc
- I have no sympathy for people who knowingly spread diseases.Last edited by purrlydoctor; 01-24-2015 at 03:52 AM.
