PIPPIN: I didn't think it would end this way.
GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.
PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what?
GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.
PIPPIN: Well, that isn't so bad.
GANDALF: No. No, it isn't.

The pics i have seen are of men wearing full US gear with US insignia's all over them. So that can't be a justified reason. Because a beard ins't going to hide the fact they are wearing US badges on them.
Even then. If you are allowed to bend the rules there. Then why not bend the rules for soldiers who want to abide by their religious standard?"Don't be envious when the grass is greener on the other side because you don't know how much crap it took to fertilize that ground.

Dude, I didn't say they were hiding the fact of who they are. But the way they intereact with the locals, they adopt their customs to 'fit in' for relationships they form. Once they aren't doing that mission and return to the states, they shave too. Same goes with drinking. We (US Soldiers) aren't allowed to drink downrange, however if it's a ceremonial thing where not drinking would offend the person they're dealing with then you drink it.

The special forces have earned their rights and they can only grow beards over seas and at their commanders discretion
The special force operators are men who have trained longer and much harder then anyone else and who constantly put themselves in life or death situations. They don't have time to follow every little policy.Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.

Growing a beard is not a right. It's a part of male life.
This is why i have no interest in joining the military at all, even if there was a draft. If they would allow me to be a man, and grow out my beard for intimidation and male reasons. Then I will die for my country in that context.
I am already willing to put my life on the line for my enemy and my brother. Not because of "military training" but because Jesus Christ himself says that this act alone is the greatest act of love for another. And his standard supersedes the subjective standard of man any day. I don't need a general telling me this. I don't need that special training to allow this. The option is there whether or not I am in the military."Don't be envious when the grass is greener on the other side because you don't know how much crap it took to fertilize that ground.

DoD policy was changed in Jan 2014 to allow service members to request a waiver of restrictions on things like facial hair for religious reasons. Can someone please explain to me why you guys are so mad about this man requesting a waiver, since DoD has already changed its policy to allow such requests
The DoD places a high value on the rights of members of the
Military Services to observe the tenets of their respective religions or to observe no religion at
all. It protects the civil liberties of its personnel and the public to the greatest extent possible,
consistent with its military requirements...
...the Military Departments will accommodate individual expressions of sincerely held
beliefs (conscience, moral principles, or religious beliefs) of Service members in accordance
with the policies and procedures in this instruction...
...Grooming and appearance practices are not included within the definition of
religious apparel; however, such practices are subject to consideration for accommodation when
the request is based on religious beliefs...
he's allowed to ask so why are you all so rustled?

I for 1 am a great person, have great friends, and i take care of every one that is in my life and i am glad to do it, and for that i have people that love me around me. also, indian parents are one of the best parents you can have. sometimes they can be really strict, but they will take care of you no matter what, and they will buy you what ever it is that you need. as long as your not a selfish ****head. Also, we all have great jobs, lots of money and a family that we all love and take care off. suck my dick op suck my dick.

I don't think anyone here is that rustled except the few that are arguing for the guy actually. I am in the Army about to hit 22 years next month, I'd love to have a beard but I shave everyday because I have to. Of course I can just retire if it were that big of a deal. People are just responding to questions and arguments from guys that asked.
But on the other hand, not sure why he wants to join an organization that he doesn't want to follow it's rules. I think he's most likely doing it to make a point about the religious thing. Although others have done it already, so not really sure why he didn't get a waiver either but there's probably more to the story than is being reported.

don't expect white conservatives to say anything positive.
Army has allowed sikhs to serve. Do you really need a shaved head to work a computer and operate a drone? Times have changed. Old farts still think everyone in the military is trained to storm normandy.
Perhaps he's a doctor or has a degree. You gonna refuse a powerful asset jsut cuz he can't wear a gas mask and will never serve on the front lines? Hey he's fat, undisciplined and has a record. But he can shave his head, let him in!
Meanwhile chinese geek soldiers are developing technology to blow us army bases out of the water with one click.

You look at a enlistee in every facet of their life - not just their face.
Ever wonder why the smartest & brightest men in america have zero desire to join the military? Ask yourself that. How would our military be today if it tried to recruit those men?Weight Loss: Go carnivore or keto combined with 16/8 IF. It'll create easy calorie deficit.
