Deadlifts are hands down the #1 exercise for me. My new routine is 315lbs (5×5). You won't hurt your back if you understand and use correct form and don't lift for your ego.

Bench Press: 245lbs×20×13×12
Squats: 275lbs×20×15×10
Deadlifts: 315lbs×5×8×7
