    Got hit at The Bench

Strength training day, Triceps, on my last set of my last rep. I couldn't go any higher, I was about to lay it down on my chest to rest, but decided it was an excellent idea to push myself harder...and it happened: Had not much strength left on my triceps, and it landed between my nose and my forehead.

To be honest, my first, one and only concern was if the bone tucked it...or something crazy like that. I tend to be a bit crazy at times like that.
Turns out it was just a cut, got that part a bit swollen. Will go on like normal.

hey good job on pushing urself and all but if the bar hit there, something went wrong.

with ur elbows tucked in (since ur training triceps they should be rly tucked in) if u failed the lift u shouldve just let it fall on ur body and chest not ur face

hope u learn from this kid

You should've got up and slapped your spotter across the face for not paying ****ing attention...

...cos you had a spotter, right?

Then you should've gone complain to the manager that the equipment's **** and the safeties didn't hold up...

...cos you had safeties set, right?

    Right...

Does everyone use a spotter? I always did it by myself. Only the second time I've reached full failure. The first time, I was doing Incline Bench and I just let it resting a bit on my chest, although a guy helped get it back up.

    how does this even happen

just set it down on your chest, roll it down to your waist, sit up, put the bar on the floor, then stand up and put the bar back onto the pins

idk how well that would work with like 405 but i havent had a problem and i'm pretty sure i had to do it with 275 once

Not really, no (wasn't embarassing). I think one's primary concern should be their own safety over what someone else' thinks about them...lawl.

I was Tricep Benching that way, for Strength. Meaning in the 5 rep range. I bench normally for 40kg at 10 reps...hardly a difference.

Oh. Well, in that case, what's the point? In bodybuilding, that is. Curious, honestly.
Anyway, It could be 50kg, maybe...maybe. A bit over 100 lbs, is the translation.

    It's something to consider.
    Bodybuilding is a strength sport.

    Size and strength directly correlate.

ok but that correlation is not linear whatsoever and theres plenty of big guys that can't rep out 315 and plenty of tiny guys (by bodybuilding standards) than can easily bench 315 for reps

Omar Isuf said his 1RM used to be 70 lbs. Now he can do 405 for 10 reps, IIRC.

But you can't, so it means nothing.

Well that, and you're a pussy for letting your triceps give out on you and an idiot for not using a spotter. Keep this up and you're never going to hit 1 plate.

Usually plate means 45 lbs or like 20 kg. And it's annoying me now.

    1kg=2.2 lbs

Multiply number of kilograms by 2 and then multiply that number by 1.1. Easy mental math. 35kg*2=70. 70*1.1=77lbs

Aye, I apologize. I understand that it's just appropriate I convert the numbers. When people ask, I just tend to give the answer which is more accurate.
