    Question Weightlifting Belt Question.

    Hello BodybuildingForums,
I have a quick question regarding the use of a weightlifting belt. As I know it is Form over Weight anyday, I have a small problem when it comes to arching my back. Almost all the time, at any weight, I have a habit of arching my back - especially when I do DB Shoulder press. As I need to work on form, would a weight lifting belt help me in anyway?( I do not plan on relying on this belt- it is only to get me started)

A belt isn't the answer to your problem; you can still use bad form while wearing a belt.

Instead, go directly to the heart of the issue---fix your form. You've stated that you already know what you're doing wrong. Stop doing it.

    That's it !

OP, you can compare a belt to spike shoes. When a player use spike shoes to play football, he has a better grip on the turf. However, the shoes does not improve his running/sprinting/tackling/cutting technique. Same goes for a belt. It improves your core stability/rigidity, but it does not improve your technique. In your case, the belt wont help you.
