Got attacked pretty hard in another thread for simply pointing out that the kid never pointed the gun at the cops (as told by the deputy chief of police), Here though it looks like the kid never even reached for the gun. They just drove up and shot him. Maybe the car blocks it, but it looks pretty suspicious.

The reports were they pulled up, saw the weapon, pulled theirs and yell commands to put his hands up, he disobeyed and reached for the weapon.
That is a justified shooting.
The pulling up right in front of the kid and shooting so quick makes it murky. I don't think it's murder still, but manslaughter is probable.**Arkansas Razorbacks**

This story is tragic but reminds me of something that happened during my childhood. Our neighbor did not like us going into the woods to build forts and stuff so she would call the police if she caught us. One day as we were entering the woods with airsoft guns (orange caps) a police car pulled up and yelled:
"DROP IT" with his hand on his gun. Scared the crap out of us, thankfully this didn't happen.

Police say Tamir Rice, who died Sunday, had an "airsoft" gun that appeared indistinguishable from a real firearm. Airsoft guns fire spherical plastic pellets and have orange tips to show they aren't real firearms, but police said the one the boy had didn't have the bright safety indicator.
