I have been weightlifting for about half a year now, I have eaten as much as I can but I have no proper diet mainly due to not being able to afford it (in school still, absolutely no income, come from a poor family) I have gained 15 pounds so far which I am really happy about (started lifting at 121 pounds at 5"11) I only started seriously lifting about 2 months ago but my diet is really letting me down, Ive gained absolutely no weight in the last 3 months despite trying to eat as much as I can Ive barely managed to maintain, my lifts have basically doubled but I have gained no weight at all, I still look pretty skinny (not even close to how skinny I used to look however) and in my country I have the school holidays coming up and I would like to gain about 20 pounds over the next 3 months if possible, but my diet is really letting me down, I would like to know some really cheap ways to get in alot of calories/protein per day consistently

you can find work; you just don't want to do the jobs that'll take you. get to work and help support the family: no excuses.
if your mom is scraping by trying to feed you, why are you wasting time and money in the gym when you could be working and helping put food on the table?Domicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

Believe me bro Ive tried getting a job since the start of this year, I am a hard worker and very good at stuff like manual labour but I get rejected instantly even at the worst paying of jobs due to my criminal record (got framed for Armed Robbery at the end of the year even though it wasnt me I just got the blame) and nobody will hire an "Armed Robber"

Don't worry about gaining weight brah go help out ur mom get stuff done
if i were you i would just go out and buy a cheap bag of oats thats like 5kg and I've never recommended this but if money is a serious issue get a cheap mass gainer with the most calories, like mutant mass I've seen $40 for a 10 pound bag that can last you a while, and have a couple scoops a day to get majority of ur cals from it... thats if you literally can't get any other food
do u have costco?? go get the 2 tubs of natural peanut butte thats like $12 I believe and have a bunch of tablespoons everyday

Thanks bro, Ive tried my hardest, I think part of the reason I was so skinny to start off with was because of my lack of calories in my diet (3 meals a day, 1 bowl of cereal for breakfast, 1 sandwhich for lunch and usually something like small plate of rice for dinner) I had to beg for food from my friends and even steal food to get my weight up but now Ive reached a stable point where I dont think ill be able to gain mass without a proper high calorie and high protein diet, Ive done very well to even maintain my weight this long

I was arrested several times as a juvenile, one of which was for stealing a dirtbike which was a felony. Once you turn 18, in many cases it will not affect you because you did it when you were a juvenile. I still had a top secret clearance in the US military despite my juvenile record.
For weight gain, start scraping for change and buying a gallon of milk. Drink half a gallon of whole milk each day. It'll cost you maybe 4-5 bucks for 2 days, and it'll give you a big surplus in calories, protein, and fat.

2014 is no longer the golden age but if you are smart and hard working, you could try learning to beat online poker micro stakes and make a bit of money from that.
You could also go and see the owner of a shop that sells something you need for your diet, explain to him your struggles to get a work that allows you to buy the food you need, and offer him your help in exchange for the product in question.
GL and keep your head up!

Hi udegeha102,
I’m sorry to hear about your circumstances, and I feel your pain.
I came from a poor family as well – mum was a single parent on the pension struggling to support me and my sister throughout our studies at High School and Uni.
It wasn’t until I entered the workforce and made a decent amount of money that I was able to pursue my weight gain goals more vigorously.
Anyways, I’m not going to give you a hard time about trying to get a job, but instead will provide you with the information you are seeking.
The following is based on research I have just conducted based on sites such as Coles:
Cheap Sources of Carbs
1. Spaghetti 0.035 cents/calorie
2. Rice 0.0433 cents/calorie
3. Multi Grain Bread 0.049 cents/calorie
4. Weet Bix 0.118 cents/calorie
5. Noodles 0.188 cents/calorie
6. Potato 0.227 cents/calorie
Cheap Sources of Protein
1. Milk 49.6 g/dollar
2. Eggs 48 g/dollar
3. Whey Protein 45.7g/dollar
4. Peanut Butter 44.9g/dollar
5. Canned Tuna 36.1g/dollar
6. Cottage Cheese 36g/dollar
7. Beans 35.5g/dollar
8. Ground beef 34g/dollar
9. Frozen Chicken 32.4g/dollar
10. Greek Yoghurt 21.2g/dollar
I guess getting the Calories and Protein you need is achieveable on a low budget, but your meals will be very bland and boring, and you would still need to spend $3-4 per day.
Hope that helps!
