I recited it all through grade school and was glad to do it. Only took a few seconds.
I even spent a couple of hours going trough it line by line and learning exactly what it meant.

As long as I am paying taxes, making an honest living, and am not committing crimes, I am doing right by the country I am living in. I dont owe anymore to anyone else I dont deem necessary.

Edit: The fact that you are upset because I dont care to recite an arranged set of letters is absurd. Its not a law, its not in the constitution, therefore it is not required. The flag hanging in front of my home is more than enough.

I don't see a problem. Cory investigated the issue and determined after much thought thay he wanted to show his allegiance. And he is free to do so. It's very different than forcing children to say it who don't really understand what it means and who also haven't decided after careful condsideration that they really feel or should feel allegiance to the country.

The Pledge of Allegiance is NOT pledging to the country. You are pledging to the republic that the flag represents. With liberty and justice for all. Liberty and justice is not punishing these kids who question it or refuse to participate.
