    Y3T would be cool. Both emergency and I are fans of this program.
    I haven't thought about doing a different workout but I'm open to suggestions.

    I'm planning on working out 4 days a week (sat, sun, tue, wed). I workout in my garage but I have a somewhat legitimate set up. I have an Olympic bench and barbell set that can incline / decline, also use it for shrugs. Also I have a 2 station pulley-weight-stack thing that I use for pulldowns, seated rows, tricep extensions etc. Lastly, I have a pull-up bar.

    A major consideration is I've never really worked out my legs and although I'm not dead set against starting with this log I'm worried it will throw the weight gained "control" out the window. If I gain 5 lbs people will say of course you did, it's newbie leg gains.

    To wrap this up, other limitations would be I don't have Dumbbells or a squat rack (my machine has a leg press).

    Anyway, I'm interested in hearing your thoughts. For a quick background I'm 38, 6'1", 165 lbs, been lifting the last 20+ years.

    If Smolov is a 13 week program, do you think it would be more beneficial to have Clear Muscle during the first introductory week

    Week 1 (3 consecutive days)
    Day 1 – 3 x 8 @ 65%, 1 x 5 @ 70%, 2 x 2 @ 75%, 1 x 1 @80%
    Day 2 – Exactly the same as day 1
    Day 3 – 4 x 5 @ 70%, 1 x 3 @ 75%, 2 x 2 @ 80%, 1 x 1 @90%

    Or the final Taper week, which is basically just recovering/growing !! (seems to be the most important part of any overreaching program)

    Week 13
    Monday – 1 x 3@ 70%, 1 x 3@ 80%, 2 x 5@ 90%, 3 x 4@ 95% (can skip this day)
    Wednesday – 1 x 4@ 75%, 4 x 4@ 85%
    Sunday – Max attempt

    yes. At least I would. If you are not used to squatting in relative high volume than it would be beneficial but if you leg workouts are more relative volume then I wouldnt. Relative volume = sets x reps x % of 1rm

    I don't know if HMB is awesome for the supercompensation part or if it's better used during tough training.
    I squat heavy 1 day/week and hypertrophy 1 day a week. It would definitely be a kick in the ass

    find the relative volume of the intro week vs relative volume of your current leg day and if there is a delta (difference) of 7+ then I would use clear muscle for intro week, if not then use it for recovery week

    Okay will do. Have just read in other overreaching programs ie 50 caliber - Charles Poloquin, that during the intense phase you want to basically grind yourself into the dirt, have depressed testosterone etc etc then recovery week you eat a bunch, rest, and take all sorts of supplements to help promote growth.

    If clear muscle works as people claim I'll probably buy it later to run the 50 cal workout if ever I get time to gym twice a day. Ohhh this is exciting.

    So this friday is the last day my school's gym is open until after the new year. I plan on going in and finding my 1RM for Squat, Bench and Deadlift that day. I know it's a lot for one day, and even though I'm not doing the CM routine, this is what the study called for. The final week of my 12 week program I will do the same thing to see how much my 1RM increased.

    Last leg day at my current gym! Push tomorrow, pull Wednesday, then a recovery day and starting up Blueprint on Friday! Driving to my parents' house later that Friday, so hopefully there will either be some Clear Muscle waiting for me, or I'll get it in the following couple days. The gym near my parents' house is pretty terrible (1 rack, 1 bench, 1 cable crossover, a couple random Cybex machines, and a million treadmills and bikes), and I figure there's a good chance that for the first two weeks I'll have to modify some exercises depending on what equipment they have, but the gym where I'll be moving looks pretty excellent. I figure I'll start the program Friday and use Thursday as my off day since the gym near my parents' house is closed Christmas and New Year's (both Thursdays), but the off-day might get switched around once I get my clinical rotation schedule next semester. Getting stoked!

    Was going to start Project Mass on the 29th if CM was here by then but hey, i can always do a second deload week and start the program the following Monday.     Im with both of you.

    We are leaving on Christmas Eve morning to travel to Providence to spend the holidays one of our sons. Our ETA for return is the 31st. If the CM is here when I return the log will get started the following day with the finale of AMP then blend straight into the Arnold BP.
