lol even entry level phd engineering jobs don't necessarily pay that much straight out of college. I think 50k is a normal starting salary in NYC if you only have a bachelor and no experience

^^^^^^^ This. Unless OP went to a terrible school or had bad grades he is for sure getting swindled. Just the CLA (cost of living adjustment) of working in NYC should push salaried non-technical jobs around 50k.
Companies will pay you more when you work in major cities unless it's going from very expensive city to cheaper city or extenuating circumstances (oil field in nomansland)* No avi crew *

Damn OP. You are getting screwed for being a ME. I didn't even finish college and i got into my engineering company as a drafter making $45K a year. That was at 22. I am also in Texas. Years later and a few different jobs down the road, now back to my first engineering company, I am now a Designer making mid $70's with still no degree. I am only a designer 1 as well. There are a 2 & 3 as well as a Senior Designer I have yet to achieve yet. Only down fall with a Senior Designer is their overtime is counted as straight time opposed to D1, 2 & 3 getting 1.5x OT. I work for a large engineering company as well. 60K plus employees. 3K at the location I am at now.

Miscers and myself share anecdotes of how you deserve to get more and some even gave advice
yet you still shut them down and you are acting salty as chit
You deserve the 50k for having the attitude of a jealous 17 year old peasant.(probably the reason why the company decided that too)The sad part about my post's is that they never get recognized and no one reads them or reps me but it's great because now I can say whatever I want....sharkeisha NOOO
I'm also a Comedian , don't take it so seriously

was happy making 35k outta college. Make quite a bit more now but I don't think anyone I graduated with made more than 50k straight from a bachelor's. I know a lot of them went on to get their masters and/or CPA and now make over 75k.
People would never get on the internet and tell lieshard to hate on a fellow wings fan but....
i need to cut... badly.
