    I have short arms sumo give shorter distance maybe i can pull more weight.

    Agreed. Do one, or do both. I do both. One training session I'll do sumo, and others I'll do conventional. Sumo seems to not give me as much lower back aggravation as conventionals do.

    It's powerlifting, if you can lift more weight with it, it will boost your competition total. In the end of the day that's all that matters, not how wide or narrow you squat, the arch or lack of in your bench, or the style of deadlift you choose. All that matters is your total.
