Officially I did not get to deadlift. I warmed up with the dudes I went with and pulled my planned opener of 545, then 575, but I did not get to pull on the platform. Sucked but now I know to sandbag the opener a little more on that benchpress lol. I picked something I could do for 3 reps but I forgot to take into account that their barbell, bench, judging, etc. would not be anything like a gym lift(even though I use ridiculous pauses for my bench)
Thanks and yeah I got another one planned for May 23rd. A little closer than I figured but the reality is ANY total I make will be an improvement over the lack of a first one
Had a lot of fun. Was a little irate that I couldnt deadlift but mostly at myself for lack of better planningYou would be surprised just how much time I have to waste.

I love face pulls with my orange bands. They have definitely helped keep my shoulders a little healthier and have given a little extra support to the barbell when squatting
Do not eat: Bojangles steak and cheese biscuit x2 before your meet. It provides no noticable energy or strength assist but it does leave you queasy after heavy squatting lol
Damn strong lifts. I am definitely mirin.
You still in VA? I think we are going to be at the same meet. Will be sending all my chit in for it this week. You would be surprised just how much time I have to waste.

nah I watched it embedded on mobile, my bad. Great meet man. You'll get 700 next time.
damn man I'm sorry to hear that. Pulling with kilo plates (if you haven't before) is an entirely different experience in itself - in the warmup room were you pulling on normal american plates? if so it's too bad you didn't get to pull on the platform and get to see that aspect of it, as for some people it does make a lot of difference.
And I know all too well about discrepancies between benches. Sometimes I bench at 24 hour fitness on those benches that are super low to the ground so it's impossible to not have butt lift. Then at my PLing gym we have 3 different benches which all feel different from each other. Then I've done a meet with a bench that felt entirely different than all 4 of those. Crazy how little differences really can make an impact.Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

I just paypal'd my schit, was not aware it posts your name and weight class to twitter, lulz.
An MFC brah from Cakalky awared me, his bud's a local and brought him there when he visited. I'm thinking of doing their punch card, that gym is the real deal. I wouldn't be there all the time since I've got my garage, but I would want to meet up with their PL crew cos I'm tired of being the big fish in the little pond here on Peninsula, I feel it's holding me back.
Gorilla, do you do Ys and scarecrows with the bands? Delts will be TST in no time. I usually do a warm-up circuit with minis on the rack with Ys (bands crossed in front and externally rotating humerus), a set of face pulls, then scarecrows, bands around the uprights at shoulder height. If what I've posted offends you, please feel free to leave your need for validation below.

yup. got awared about it from a one of the guy's I met at the meet on Saturday. Dont usually think of the SPF when watching out for meet schedules but I figured I can start collecting membership cards from everybody. Going to put the 100% RAW one in the archive for now though. no sleeves and no knee wraps is not my ideal squatting situation.
yeah the 545 and 575 were both them big ass bumper plates lol. It was a crossfit gym so they had a lot of those oversized plates. I figured out that using those plates made pulling much easier than the plates I have where four of my plates are bigger than the others so all the weight comes off the ground at once.
@Gunshow, did not see the paypal option. was just going to mail it in. Do you know what the lifter limit is(if any)? Didnt see that anywhere on their form eitherYou would be surprised just how much time I have to waste.

Did you compete in the 100% RAW meet?
A dude that I met at the SPF Meet (literally that day) and was my handoff man competes 100% RAW. He set a national record for the 165's IIRC. Mike Vivlemore. Awesome dude, and ridiculously strong for a 165.
I'm gonna be competing at the Fall meet @ Brute. They havent announced when exactly it is yet, but its usually a halloween meet. I'm hoping for 1400 @ 242.Best lifts in Compeition 560/350/650 and a 1560 total @ 290lbs

Candito tagged me earlier in the convo and I gave my opinion based on that poverty footage. Just went back and skimmed through everything since my post, oh lawd. Sh!t is pretty funny. Ben Rice post made me lol and totally agree with him. Then the kid went and pushed all the blame to his coach. I just watched his youtube video that shows all 3 attempts and better quality footage. 1st attempt is clearly and definitively high from the front, I see why the head judge would red light him and I would have done the same. 2nd attempt was a little deeper and close enough from the front to white light but I understand why the side judges would red light. 3rd attempt was higher than 2nd attempt and he couldn't even finish the lift. But I think everyone who so vehemently think it's below parallel or atg or whatever is looking at the top of the quad rather than top of the knee.

No, don't know the limit, the paypal button's on the meet info page. I stumbled across it when i was looking to scope out when the PL brahs are in.
Those reasons are some of the same reasons i didn't do the RAW meet, either. That and feet flat on floor for bench and it seems they hardly ever do a full power meet.If what I've posted offends you, please feel free to leave your need for validation below.
