I got a needle the size of a pencil jabbed into my shoulder, then I got stuffed in a tube for 30 minutes. Fun times.

As good as one could hope! I finally got my MRI done today, hopefully I hear back from the doc before the end of the week. I'm ready to get this shoulder fixed so I can start my recovery.

I think IIFYM is just too good not to be doing, but if you track carbs/fats then it can get a little annoying as you lose a fair bit of flexibility.

If you're gonna cut, do it VERY slowly. It sucks to cut for a long time, but I did it over about 6 months (lost ~35lbs) and I managed to maintain or even improve strength because it was so slow.

I rather cut fast and have the other 3 months to do a clean bulk and get way stronger. I am just over half way through with my 12 week cut and have lost around 18-20 lbs fat. Strength/ muscle mass is up from where I started as well. I see no sign of slowing down yet in muscle gains and fat loss.

I'm in the same situation. I got one of these http://www.mrheater.com/forced-air-p...ater-1250.html and a 40 lb propane tank to fix my problem. The garage is attached, so it will usually stay about 20 degrees warmer than the outside temps on it's own. When I fire this bad boy up, it will raise the temp another 30 degrees. I also installed a ceiling fan so it will circulate the warm air. If it's -10 outside, I can get it into the mid 40s in my garage. That's t-shirt weather.

Outside events are still done out in the crisp air, though. I find that sub-zero temps can actually help quite a bit with grip for farmers walks once you get past the shock of grabbing freezing cold steel with your bare hands.

I have an 85k btu propane heater that works alright, but the garage is old, detached and uninsulated. It is a rental house, or I would have already insulated it. The other problem is that the windows are not operable, so I have to crack the door to get fresh air with the heater going. Given that the draft is rough, I open it while the heater is running (30ish mins before training) and then close it a couple minutes after it is off. It isn't 40 degrees, but it is still 20's, which isn't bad. Only problem is that my feet get really, really cold when I am in my oly shoes. Sized them down, so the fit is too tight to put thick socks in. Between sets yesterday, I had my feet wrapped in a blanket to try and keep some warmth in, but the concrete floor and platform are so damn cold.

Not too bad though. Just a couple more weeks. I am hoping the cold air and its ability to make it tough to breathe will allow me to have a "training at altitude" effect when it warms up.

2400 calories is what my 5'11,130 pound stick figure of a girlfriend eats.

I'd probably start at 3500 of clean food, low carb, and replace any snacking with carb free protein shakes and beef jerky.

I usually recommend people start at 14 calories per pound for cutting. Adjust from there

Attempting to lose more than 1 pound per week and maintain any respectable strength is dumb

Would only help if I didn't leave it outside. The blanket is essentially the same thing.

The thing loosened up the packed down stuff nicely. Need to plow it and get it salted Saturday so I can carry a yoke.

Yeah, that's always going to be a problem when you're on concrete. I have a pair of hard soled slippers that I wear with wool socks when I'm deadlifting and they seem to do ok. When I have to wear normal or oly shoes, my tootsies get a bit frosty, even with my wooly socks.

My entire routine has changed because of this cold weather.

I now go out to my garage and turn on my electric heaters, then come back inside put my hoodie and beanie in the dryer on high heat, stretch, roll, and do any of the warmup I can inside. Then I put my hoodie, and beanie on, and go out and try to work up as much sweat/heat as possible warming up before they get cold. It's a drag.

The hoodie is pretty much a staple, but I prefer it when I have to take it off for my accessory work because I'm too hot. As of right now I start thinking about building a fire in my garage just to survive after about my 3rd set.

I'd take it any day of the week stacked against freezing temps.

My wife and I both have careers that allow for relocation pretty easily, and I've been on her about moving to the FL Panhandle. Mostly joking, but if she said yes my house would be on the market tomorrow.
