Yeah I've been a member of his gym for a few years now. When I joined it was a pretty small space but this year they rented a big warehouse and it's turned into a really sick gym.

He is cutting, but I think it's more he just wants to get leaner and not have to cut as much weight for whenever he competes next. When he cut weight for GPA worlds it was pretty extreme and I don't think he wants to relive that experience.

Making some blocks to deadlift off of instead of doing rack deadlifts. How thick should I make them?

Depends on how carried away you want to get.

1 stall mat = 3/4"
stall mat + 3/4" plywood = 1 1/2"
stall mat + plywood + 2x4 = 3"
stall mat + plywood + 3 layers of 2x4 = 6"

Make two of each and now you can create stacks that vary in height from 3/4" to 11 3/4" in 3/4" increments.

EDIT:it is RUM 8 and Kyle Smoked 501&512 for a 3rd, he had another 5kg in him. A few females in there hitting awesome numbers as well.

700 on reverse bands unpeaked, I figure he is good for it. So awesome for the 10x bw total. It'll be cool seeing him go up in weight too.
