Unimaginable tragedy struck a suburban Kansas City community after two girls, friends and high school soccer players, both committed suicide over the weekend.
Ciara (CiCi) Marie Webb, 16, died at her Olathe, Kan., home about 4 p.m. Friday, while her friend, Cady Housh, a fellow junior at Olathe Northwest High School, was killed Sunday just after 8 p.m. when she stepped in front of a train in Lenexa, just a town over in the southwest suburbs, according to KCTV.
Most students learned of the Cady's suicide in their second period class Monday, just after they’d learned that Ciara had killed herself. Several students left school as the shock quickly led to grief.
“A lot of kids went home,” Samyak Badkul, a sophomore, told the Kansas City Star. “The mood was just (somber) — nobody making jokes. Even teachers were very calm and quiet.”
Both girls played for the school’s soccer team, the Ravens.
“Thank you to everybody for your thoughts and prayers,” coach Chris Graham wrote Monday evening on Twitter. “The Raven Soccer family and entire Raven community can’t begin to express our thanks.”
The girls’ social media accounts both depict smiling, happy teens — neither showed obvious signs that they were troubled. The day after Ciara’s suicide, Cady used Instagram to post a video of the two friends and reminisce about how close they had become over the past two years.

Why would someone jump in front of a ****ing train? That is so ****ing morbid. If I was going to kill myself I'd use a noose or a powerful gun aimed at the brain stem.

In Toronto where I'm at the main subway line gets 2 suicides per week. It's always delayed because of it, but they said they got it down to a system now on how to get everything cleaned up so trains can keep moving quick. I don't understand how kids/teens can take their lives. Whatever problems they have, they will get out of it and have their whole life ahead. But I guess in the moment they only see their current black state that their life has become.

I mean it's sad to see the loss of young life but I always get this feeling of dread that the problem may of been trivial and able to of been worked through.

Once saw a documentary on the London underground. The drivers see this happen at least 3 times a year each. You'd be amazed how often people do it but you don't hear about it because it's not on the news or anything
