I think it's even worst when you know what you wanna do, but cannot get into it yet. Studied to be a firefighter and there's absolutly no other job that compares to it. Been 3 years since i graduated and still no job. Currently studying like a maniac and just applied on a fulltime FF contest. If i don't end up being a firefighter, i really don't know what i'm gonna do

Know those feels brah. Still waiting for that 'eureka!' moment lol. I'm so jelly of people who always know what they wanted to do, end up doing that thing, and enjoying it just like they thought they would.
Meanwhile I've had no fukcing clue my entire life...
Self-esteem is really bad. I don't even bother talking to girls really because I don't feel like I'm a 'somebody' in the slightest. Mediocre / near-poverty job, and no real personal identity.
When I was younger I was terrified of being average, as the years have gone on I've realised I am distinctly average... feels so bad man sometimes I just want to diePositive crew

23, in a job that's meh, pays alright for what I actually do but dont like it, stand there bored out my mind all night. Think I want to get back into computing since I enjoyed that at school, and then I can create a system that could replace my old departments jobs. And computers/ai are clearly the way forward.

Would highly recommend getting into a trade like most miscers say
you can't beat being an auto mechanic srs
and if you get some business knowledge you can be banking on your own garage
as a matter of fact, if you have sufficient business knowledge + any trade, you can basically crush the competition based on your guys being honest, actually doing a good job and not being alcoholics/drug addicts

Eh I'd say it is pretty common.
I'd prefer it over my current situation - I'm 30 and know I don't really like my current career but I make good money and am about to start a family. If I drastically switched careers I'd have to take a hit to my lifestyle and I don't want to do that. Probably just going to gut it out for the next 4 or 5 years then figure it out.

I'm 24 guys and, after doing a stupid undergraduate degree, have realised one thing in life.
You sleep 8 hours a day, work 8 (or more) hours a day and have 8 (or less) hours a day for relaxation time. If you get yourself into a good position, you work less hours and have more time to yourself + more money.
That's what you should aim for - nobody does a job they enjoy (it wouldn't be a job then). Celebrities and rich athletes aren't entering drug rehab and paying out of their ass for counseling because they feel like it.
I think we in the West have become too cushioned because 100 years ago our grandparents probably had to grind out an existence in a factory or some manual labour job that was repetitive as ****. At least today we have the opportunity to earn a living that won't kill us before we're 65 or maim us for life.
Cliffs
Nothings perfect.
Aim for a job that will give you a good lifestyle and has enjoyable parts + enables a better out of work lifestyle.

I had a job right out of college making good money, but I hate it and I'm looking to switch from the IT industry into the financial industry. I've applied to about 50 jobs in the past week. Took a Wall Street Admissions Test today for a hedge fund analyst position, pretty sure I failed it but whatever lol
