Let’s say that you have 25 horses, and you want to pick the fastest 3 horses out of those 25. In each race, only 5 horses can run at the same time because there are only 5 tracks. What is the minimum number of races required to find and rank the 3 fastest horses without using a stopwatch?

On the basis of your answers and factoring in the time taken to give them,
I create the following IQ classes

1)You have no Idea wtf is happening(read question and scoot away)- SAdly your IQ is <95
2)You understood that at least 5 races would be done and thats about, it your Iq is 100-110
3)You Immediately answered 6, but failed to account that top ones from each heat may not beat the 2nd or 3rd from other heat - your IQ is 110-120
4)You did realize that the answer is >6 but got lost in the nitty grities afterwards - your IQ is 120-134 the upper end is decided by how close you are to the correct answer.

5)you answered correct (check post 50). If no external help was there,
I award you 135+ IQ. You can now gladly join the above 135 IQ crew

Then 2 more races with the top 10. You will have 2 horses left (taking top one from these 2 races) and you run one more race to decide.

You race in groups of 5 to get 5 winners-race 1-5
you race those horses.- race 6
then you race- the 2nd/3rd place of race 6, 2 horses from group 2 and one from group 3- race 7

What if the three fastest were all in the first race together, for example? Then you'd have discounted two of them even though they may have beaten all of the remaining 20 you hadn't tested yet.
