I come from a city in the UK which has seen the hightest % of eastern european immigration since the expansion of the EU, instead of blaming that for all the problems I have been proactive and accuired a niche skill set which means regardless of all the things around me I have a job and income which isn't effected by such things.

Also there is something to be said for current immigration rates being too high for infrastructure to keep up. Most U.S. cities have major traffic issues and water supply worries.
