Smile Need help picking out power rack

Hi. I've been going to the gym now for 3 years and always have been physically active. Due to someone smashing in my window on my new truck and costing me $2000+ of damages while I was working out. Ive decided to buy my own home gym and screw the gym. I don't need a criminal charge when I rip his arm off and beat him with it. I then decided to buy my own "home gym".

So far I have bought a olympic 7' power bar, 4 - olympic dumbell bars, 600+ lbs. in olympic plate weights, a chin dip/ leg raise stand, olympic ez curl bar, now I need a power rack - willing to spend $1500 preferably but will spend $2000 if need be. I tried buying a squat rack and incline bench press but I was dissapointed in them. I sent them back after just setting them up. Too cheap for me and rather not die. I need a rack that's going to last and preferably one with multiple add ons.

I need help making sure I don't buy something that's disappointing. My ceiling is only 88", can go 90 - 92" max but have to cut out drop ceiling. I live in Canada and not many choices here but can order from anywhere. Sorry for the long post but I would greatly appreciate any help to steer me in the right direction. Seems like all I can find is ones off rouge Canada or treadmill factory, opinions?

What part of Canada? We have a forum member, Mech6, in Canada that fabricates some of the best gear around.

If I lived in Canada, I would be contacting Mech6 as well. I've been reading this forum for years and have been very impressed with his knowledge and work. Here are some examples of his work:

FWIW, Rogue will custom cut their power racks to fit your height needs (i think its an extra $50 per pair of uprights). This may be a common thing for companies so excuse me if this was an unnecessary addition

From the samples of his work on this site, I'd say you REALLY want to get in touch with Mech6. You will get more fore your money, and EXACTLY what you want in a rack.

Keep in mind, even though Rogue will "custom cut" their uprights, they'll do so AFTER powder coat. So there's no benefit to you, unless you're just the type that doesn't like to get her hands dirty .

Awesome! Thanks guys for the help.
His work does look very impressive. I'll definitely have to look at it closer when i get home and figure out what I want exactly. Would be nice to exactly custom fit and design it for what you need it for.

I definitely had to order a rack from Mech6. I was wondering if you guys knew where to get a really good adjustable workout bench? I'd like a professional one or something close to that. Seems like all the forums like this, people just want the cheapest thing out there.

Congrats, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

Regarding benches, check out this thread: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=164833921

Don't know how much of it applies in Canada, but good place to glean a bit of info and see what people prefer and why.
