Went to get my oil change, but they forgot to put oil in my car. Car is dead now, won't start now.
What are my options
- Are they liable 100%?

Yes, no oil will 100% break your engine bad. It can literally fuse your piston to the engine. Like weld it to engine. There is a high probablility that you're engine is completely phucked unless they bore it out and replace everything.

They are a 100% liable. Your engine is destroyed now..
If it's an older ricer POS they probably won't pay for an engine replacement and say it was a scrap car anyway. How did you not hear the knocking and obvious signs of distress?
What kind of car? Year?

EXACTLY the same thing happened to me.
Call a mechanic, and have him inspect the car and give you an report showing NO oil leaks.
Then take it to repair place, and tell them what happened. They will file it with their insurance and replace your engine.

maybe they forgot to tighten the oilpan plug in? I know I guy I work with use(this is the reason why )put the plug in but didn't tighten it much at all (a few threads in )all the oil leaked out and jiffylube got her a new motor.

Yes they sure as fuk are. Save the receipt, note the times and everything. Start writing down how everything happened. Contact the place first and if they're not willing to fix their fuk-up, then contact a lawyer. Your engine is done, you'll need to get it replaced with another one.

Yes they are 100%, ive worked in the service dept of a Toyota dealer for 7 years and this has happened many times ive gotten cars towed in bc Walmart n dumb side shops do this. Its always an argument at first with them but they have no choice but to fix the thing. It will turn into a lawsuit they will never win if they don't. Trust me they are liable, I would tow it to a dealer to get it looked at, I would not trust sending it back there, they may put oil in it and it will run ok for a short period of time, ive seen this happen over and over again.

Saw this many times at work.
Most important question is 1) how long until your car got fuked 2) how many miles did you put on the car before it got fuked
Only play the oil change place could make is that they say you did something to the car, like hit something on the freeway which caused the oil to leak ect. If it was pretty soon after the oil change you should be golden. I've seen most oil change places pay for a rental and get your car repaired, if they dont then file a claim with your insurance company and let them handle it, you'll have to pay your deductible but your ins co will likely get it back for you.
