That's what I'm thinking. It's like he's trying to trick me into resigning. The week prior we had a meeting and apparently he's upset with me because I'm beign very "aloof" and cold with him and I basically told him he's looking too far into it, so I'm wondering if this has anything to do with it. I called human resources on lunch and asked. In Canada if you work for a financial institution they check your credit report. There have been instances of financial advisors getting fired because of poor credit. I'd rather have resigned on that report then fired. I was doing this job to pass time anyways it's a poverty job.

So I work at a bank as one of those *******s who opens up bank accounts,sets up mortgages and tries to sell you term investments and mutual funds. 35k a year and 40k with some experience.

Anyway's Friday night was quite the night.... got absolutely destroyed Halloween and didn't sleep. I showed up to work the next day and apparently I wreaked of booze, had blood shot eyes and all of that even though I used visene and had some gum.

The branch manager is saying that I can resign tomorrow with nothing on my record or he files the report to human resources and I will be terminated for being intoxicated at work; however, I think he may be bluffing because he told me he interviewed 4 other employees today even though they weren't even at the branch today. Wondering if I should roll the dice and not resign and let it go to HR in hopes he is lying or if I should just hand in my letter tomorrow.

If they didnt send you in for breathalizer/drug screen then they cant fire you for being under the influence you fuking potato. Know your rights

If you were not drunk then do nothing, plenty of people come to work overtired or sick so what is the difference? Don't let him scare you OP, this can be seen as harrassment in the workplace and unless you severely underperformed or did something out of line he really can't write you up. Do not go to HR as once you walk into the HR office you are blacklisted anyways, just leave it alone and ask to have a meeting with him to talk about what happened.
