You think you guys would get tired of making yourselves look stupid.
Every time there's an argument gun control advocates get intellectually hammered time and time again.
They point to statistics. We explain that the stats are deceptive. Our murder rates and gun violence are skewed. Suicides by gun are included as gun violence. Our crime rate is correlated with population density and not the number of guns. We have witnessed an inverse relationship with higher gun ownership coexisting with decreased crime rates.
Following my point of population densities, we have a higher pop density than other first world nations. Moreover, a very controversial point, when analyzing that data further we notice those high pop density areas can be categorized by specific demographic trends, which explain why most of our homicides and gun violence are the result of gang violence.
Even philosophical it doesn't make sense. You live in a society which had legislated you out of the right to protect yourself because of a quixotic way of interpreting the world around you; this goes way beyond gun ownership.
It's like trying to argue with an irrational person. You explain that 2+2=4. They say they've never seen that equation before, it makes them nervous and uncomfortable and would rather believe it equals 5 because that's how they FEEL.Interested in joining the military? ----> Militaryaptitudetests.com

We rarely need to though, because every autistic 17 year old virgin with a hatred for humanity doesn't have access to rifles with large mags

I live in Canada, own nine guns and have never shot anyone. You mad, frenchie? Maybe the problem isnt guns, but..... people themselves?
Oh man, people responsible for their own actions.. what a concept! I think we should accept the fact that people are ****ed and do what is necessary to stop crimes in progress, not prevent them.
I highly doubt people go to school and tell their guidance person that theyre having murderous thoughts.sober brah

This isn't an argument, because it's identical for every other country. How much of our knife crime do you think occurs in the British countryside? There are parts of Britain which literally see zero murders on average, and outside of petty theft sees hardly any crime. Most of our murders/violent crime (which is low as it is) happens in a few districts of a few major cities like Manchester, London, Liverpool, Birmingham etc and the rest of the country is very safe. America has a disproportionately high homicide rate for a developed country, period, and trying to swing it any other way makes you look like a giant fool

Cliffs if your too lazy:
USA 4.7 per 100'000
Canada 1.6 per 100'000
UK 1.0 per 100'000
Italy 0.9 per 100'000
Sweden 0.7 per 100'00
Even European countries considered borderline poverty:

Iirc, the dude that did the latest shooting was on the football team and fairly popular.
If you read international news, which I doubt, Ferguson just came under all kinds of heat for their p.d.'s use of these same vehicles. I'd also be curious to see the data on depression meds being dispensed in the U.K. vs. U.S.For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16 (KJV)

Americans are too ****ed in the head and irresponsible, the kid who shot up that elementary schools mom would be in this thread defending guns with all the other gun nuts but she leaves them around her weird son like nothing could do wrong.
America should have their entire households get a mental evaluation and background check before being approved to own a gun.

I commend OP for voicing an opinion on this issue in a clear-headed way.
I personally do not think anything short of full privatization would ever result in a system whereby teachers, administrators would be incentivized to make such changes. Right now they are bureaucrats, notoriously opposed to any change in the status quo. They are more concerned with maintaining their illusion of control over kid's lives and their own pensions. Any attempt to change how they deal with problems like bullying and mental illness will amount to a couple PowerPoint presentations, probably a couple new administrative positions, and no real change./l、

If we all started taking that weird kid that smells like chit and sits in the back of class drawing dead babies seriously we could probably prevent a lot more of them.
Alot of times when this chit happens people pop up saying "well Timmy did enjoy going to the woods and shooting targets with his classmates faces on them, but I never thought we would ever do something like this!"
Seriously the government probably monitors all of the porn I watch but can't look for red flags of a clear psychopath about to go ballistic<Cumshot Marksman>

That works for your nation, and the gun control in the US works for us. I'm glad that we have the opportunity to keep guns.
Actually, I am not LDS. Even if I were Mormon, what would my religion have to do with my stance on gun control? Such an ignorant and stupid statement. I love when people make such general assumptions like this. Just like when Romney was running for president, everyone LOVED to point out the fact that he was LDS.
LDS people are actually very kind and giving people.
