In shootings, the perpetrator is often someone who has been overlooked and abused their entire life. They understand that humanity lacks sincere compassion, so they seek to return the favor on their way out. Let's be honest here, if we weren't composed of a culture of dehumanizing *******s, we would probably get a lot less of this. Instead, the media seeks to paint the situations as if the victims were blameless, as if they had no hand in culturing the anger.

This isn't an argument, because it's identical for every other country. How much of our knife crime do you think occurs in the British countryside? There are parts of Britain which literally see zero murders on average, and outside of petty theft sees hardly any crime. Most of our murders/violent crime (which is low as it is) happens in a few districts of a few major cities like Manchester, London, Liverpool, Birmingham etc and the rest of the country is very safe. America has a disproportionately high homicide rate for a developed country, period, and trying to swing it any other way makes you look like a giant fool

Our high homicide rate is the result of gang violence in areas with specific demographics, and also includes suicides which skews the numbers. If guns are the pivotal reason then why has crime been on a steady decline since the early 1990's while gun ownership has increased significantly? Why has your country's violent crime rate increased under your restrictive gun laws? You don't have an answer because it doesn't fit your emotional opinion.

After seeing yet again another school shooting in America and the media frenzy that happens afterwards "video games are bad....stricter gun laws" which don't solve the problem merely makes it looks like politians are doing something. The same profile for each shooter; Loners and outcasts that usually have a lot of social problems. Banning guns will NOT change these individuals merely make them get more creative i.e. homemade explosives. Gun crime it's not about guns, it's about young youths and the ways of life. You don't solve gun crime by taken a gun out of someones hand, you solve it by installing youth with hope and plans.

The problem is not the guns themselves but the youths wielding them. I think that the responibilty lies with the school too look out for socially akward students and make a class aimed at developing their social skills. Even sticking the students in a job where they're forced to interact with customers or such and will bring them a long way. SRS

I personally do not think anything short of full privatization would ever result in a system whereby teachers, administrators would be incentivized to make such changes. Right now they are bureaucrats, notoriously opposed to any change in the status quo. They are more concerned with maintaining their illusion of control over kid's lives and their own pensions. Any attempt to change how they deal with problems like bullying and mental illness will amount to a couple PowerPoint presentations, probably a couple new administrative positions, and no real change.
