I have in the past, but I don't like hunting on public land too much. When I make it up to my parents place I bird and deer hunt. I need to get a new deer rifle...been thinking of a remington 700 in .270 or 30-06. I've wanted to try a BAR as well. I can't seem to find one in the area though. I'm not sure if I'm going to spend any time out in the woods for deer when I head up to there place on Sunday. They've got 6 feet of snow in the last 10 days or so in upper Michigan and it doesn't sound like anyone is getting anything.Originally Posted by 13donniedarko

What part in upper Michigan? Yeah public sucks in a lot of places, people seem to think they own it lol. What kinda birds do you hunt? far west end, almost in Wisconsin. I got spoiled growing up, my grandparents had a farm and even after selling off most of the land as it got smaller and smaller, they passed on about 70 acres. Where are you hunting at?Originally Posted by 13donniedarko

Central wi all on public land. Wow thats still a good chunk of hunting land, I keep meaning to go up and try hunting the up. Same experience here turkey was super wet and only had two come in at the end of the season but couldn't get a shot. Do you use 3 or 3 1/2 shells? How did you do ruffed grouse hunting?
