The Kurds really are good people apart from their problems with Turkey. Any American who walked into a Kurdish village would be treated like a rock star. They have some beautiful women too!

The Kurds have problems with everyone. They occupy a region of every country in that area. Whenever they have a problem, they get a bigger country to back them up/deal with their problem. Whether it's an issue with Iran, Iraq, Turkey, or Syria.
They love America because Americans have often come to their aid for one reason or another. Whether it's been because the Kurds have had issues with Iran, Iraq, or Syria. (Not Turkey so far, to my knowledge at least, but that's mainly due to the US having good relations with Turkey, among other Western powers).
They essentially get other people to fight their wars for them, as is the case now. Smart, but that method of policy won't last forever.
The entire fuking region is a shiit show. I honestly think it's best to leave that whole mess for themselves to clean up, not the West. Dragging billions of dollars, lives, and resources into an unachievable goal. You would have to eliminate all threats for the goal to be achieved. Simply driving a group of people back won't do it. Neither will killing them all, as the people themselves aren't the issue, but the flavour of ideology/thought they hold. And that's not something you can just shoot from the sky and hope it goes away.

Twitter is by far the best way to keep up in detail with current events.
http://twitter.com/search-advanced
Twitter advanced search for ' Kobani OR Kobane OR YPG '
http://twitter.com/search?src=typd&q...ane%20OR%20YPG
You can either look at just the popular Tweets that come up instantly when the search results first come up if you want a good overview, or give it a minute or so and it will start updating with new tweets/all tweets that come out with any of those keywords in them.

Bread and Circus in the modern era. The internet and YouTube replace the Gladiatorial combat in the Colosseum. OP, you realize you are cheering the deaths of human beings?
Even if they are "evil" in your eyes, you should never enjoy the act of having to end people's lives. We kill because we have to, don't celebrate itLast edited by CalmWind; 10-25-2014 at 06:58 AM.

Cool to see them hitting their target but pretty amazed any American can be bothered to cheer this chit any more. Your country is drowning in debt, whilst the world continues to dislike your foreign policy to the extent you sound hypocritical when you call Putin out for his antics.
Each of these strikes costs in the order of half a million dollars in munitions alone, all so you can blow up equipment that ISIS picked up from your own leftovers when you pulled out of Iraq... Staggers me that you find this worth applauding.Private Equity Analyst - Feel free to PM for info, interview & networking tips.
