I've recently begun eating brown rice regularly (once a day), and I usually eat 1 cup of it alongside chicken breast/veggies for dinner. The first couple of times I ate it, I just measured the already cooked rice into a 1-cup measuring cup. However, when I saw that the serving size for cooked brown rice was 195 grams, I started weighing it out instead, and it was around twice as much rice as when I was just measuring it with the cup. It looks like a ton of rice, and I want to trust the scale, but it honestly just seems like waaaaay too much rice to just be 216 calories!
I make the rice with a 2:1 water-to-rice ratio, so I'm wondering if perhaps I'm not adding enough water to the rice, which would cause me to be eating more rice than I should be since more of the weight would be coming from the rice rather than the water absorbed from the rice.
Any advice would be much appreciated - I'd love to hear how you prepare/measure brown rice so I can make sure I'm eating the proper amount. I feel like overeating rice could have a pretty negative impact on my progress, so I really want to figure this issue out as soon as possible.

I was thinking that was probably what I'd end up doing. I've only been eating brown rice for a little while, but I've found that it definitely helps to keep me full and energized. However, that could also be because I'm eating way to much of it, haha. I suppose I'll just have to see how I like it once I get the measurements figured out. Thanks for the reply!
