switch front squats from 3x8 to 6x4?

I did high reps with the front squat monday and my upper back around the shoulder blades has been nagging me since. I've been reading that I should do less reps and more reps, so should I do 6 sets of 4 reps rather than 3 sets of 8?

Btw I mainly do front squats to bring up muscular weaknesses in my squat and deadlift and for more squatting volume.

you read that you should do less reps and more reps? wat
front squats over 5 reps will be more about isometric upper back strength than your legs. don't give your back a chance to give out, 6x4 would be better imo.

    lol i meant more sets

idk man, i put them in as an optional accessory lift, and the routine says whatever optional lift you do is 3x8-12

this also means i would do the front squats at a higher intensity than the squat and deadlift, which doesnt make any sense since its an accessory lift

Are you going to raise the weight lifted if so that would be more time consuming and taxing.
