    Question Rookie Questions Ahead

When I am lifting with dumbbells and tracking, do I count the weight of both dumbbells? I've been listing the single dumbbell weight. And to coincide with this question, if the plan says 12 reps, is that 12 total or 12 on each side?
    Thank you in advance.
BTW, I did do a quick search but just wasn't going to search through several hundreds posts that might have had these questions. Sorry if I'm repeating....

Use the weight of the single DB. If you're doing uni-lateral movements, it's the number of reps for each side. On a personal note, I like to count like this 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 2, 4, 2, 5, 2... 12, 2, if it's an alternating movement.

Thank you. I feel a little better since that is how I have been counting. And I like the cadence that you use.
