    Arrow Fructose Intolerance Supplements

    Hi!
I have fructose intolerance and a metabolic disorder (my body has a problem handling large amounts of carbs). It's very very hard for me to gain muscle mass.
But I need to pack on some pounds for football.

    My Question:
Do you know any supplements (I'm mostly looking for a good weight gainer) that are fructose free?

    Thanks,
    kingmode.

It would be best to make your own home gainer using food sources that you can tolerate.

Did a physician actually give you that diagnosis? Lots of people read books and self-diagnose this, or have doctors suggest they try an elimination diet, but don't actually diagnose them. Are you actually diagnosed?

Have you calculated your TDEE? How many calories is it?

Yes, I was diagnosed with fructose intolerance about 9 months ago. The doc advised me to see a nutritionist... so I did. But the nutritionist just told me what I already knew (and charged ridiculous high prices..).

I did not calculate my TDEE but I will do if this helps.

If oats cause problems too, I'm not sure what else you could add to a gainer. Most gainers use something like maltodextrin, but the ones that don't use things like oats and sweet potatoes.

Bananas don't cause problems for me. Should I mix them with my protein shake?

Thanks for the link!! This article is very helpful!
The doc just told me to see a nutrionist and the nutrionist asked me some questions about my diet and then said I should try to avoid food with fructose.

Ice cream contains sugar. And sugar is made up of about half glucose and half fructose. My diet situation is a little tricky.

Thanks to everyone for giving me advice!
