LOL I've never really liked horror movies. Anything with a freakin' clown freaks me out to this day. I've hated clowns since I was a kid! I did enjoy those silly Abbot and Costello movies on Saturday afternoons when I was a youngster. 'Abbot and Costello Meet the Mummie.' 'Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein.' Ha! I can still see that silly face, and hear..."ABBOT!!!!!"

I like horror movies too -- I grew up in the 80's, so all the cheesy 80's slasher films give me the warm and fuzzies.
My favorite though is "The Shining". I didn't read the book, which I think helped greatly in my appreciation of the movie. Kubrick's vision departed from King's in ways prevented many fans of the book from enjoying the movie. It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

I heard the Evil Within is a great horror game. I believe it's the same creator of the Resident Evil series. Me personally, I'm not a big horrorcore fan, but I keep seeing good reviews for it.
As for movies, I'm not a real big fan of the genre but my wife loves them. So I've seen my fair share of horror movies. The most recent one that I enjoyed was The Conjuring. We went and saw Annabelle this past weekend. My wife enjoyed it, but I thought it was terrible.
But nothing compares to the older stuff. The original Exorcist, Children of the Corn, Original Texas Chainsaw, etc.

At one time I thought pennywise was the scariest clown and then the new season of American horror story started
I love all types of horror movies, from slasher flicks, to zombies as well as paranormal. Some of my favorites would have to be the shining (even loved the TV remake which was closer to the book), night of the living dead, Rob Zombies remake of Halloween (love the originals though), and hellraiserLast edited by frozensparky; 10-21-2014 at 07:26 AM.
It's not your beliefs that make you a better person, it's your behavior.

Zombies are my thing. Favorite show these days The Walking Dead. Guess I got hooked when I played the original Resident Evil video game.

The original Exorcist is on a level all by itself. I'm not into the hack/slash stuff, but I've enjoyed a few horror films over the past few years.
The Strangers
Paranormal Activity
The Conjuring
Sinister
Last House on the Left

I'm a horror fanatic. Just picked up the Exorcist director's cut Sunday to add to my collection. IMO that movie is the best of the genre. Some other favs are The Shining, John Carpenter's The Thing, the original Halloween ( first two movies), Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn Of The Dead, Rosmary's Baby, the original Psycho, and the first 4 Friday The 13th. Some newer favorites are Session 9, and the 28 days/weeks later series.

besides the obvious zombies in the Resident Evil, I just totally LOVE Milla Jovavich!
now: anyone want to see some SERIOUS Zombie movies that verge on artsy films, check out the two movies by the Ford brothers: THE DEAD, and THE DEAD2....these are simply amazingly acted and filmed movies that are as real as it can get.......
but for pure SCARES, if you want to see a movie that unnerved me, catch MAMA with Jessica Chastain: one of the outright most frightening movies I have seen in some time....Lift as MUCH as you can, for as MANY reps as you can,
while in complete control of the exercise.

Only 2 movies stuck out that I recall as "memorable." The first one is the original "Carrie" movie with Sissy Spacek. That movie was the movie that made me scream like a little girl. My date grabbed my arm at the same time Carrie's friend was laying down flowers at Carrie's grave **** SPOILER ALERT****
and a hand shot up from the ground and grabbed her arm! Luckily, everyone was screaming at the same time I was and nobody, girlfriend included, noticed! The second one is of course the Exorcist, which to this day remains the most horrifying horror flick I've ever watched."Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self-esteem, first make sure that you are not, in fact, just surrounded by a$$holes"
