I live in North Smithfield. Love Narragansett and the beaches, Block Island, Newport etc. I could never live anywhere that was more than a couple hours drive to the coast.

I'm a military brat, so we moved alot. But the best place that I've ever been to is Japan! I spent over 10 years in Okinawa and spent a few summers on the Mainland i.e. Tokyo, Misawa, Yokota. Not only is it beautiful there, most of the locals are super-friendly and kind-hearted people. My wife and I plan to move there after our daughter graduates high school; which is in 4 years. Not sure how realistic that is, but we'll continue to keep that option open.

My granddad was a farmer and exact same thing as yours, you haven't experienced manual labor until you bailed hay in 99 degree heat.
