So this guy Sergio Oliva Jr. has the genetics of a super human.
I dont' see why he can't follow in his fathers foot steps and win the Olympia atleast once.
Thoughts on this?

He's looking great and doing good things lately though...........
http://sergioolivajr.com/
Before his dad passed away Im sure he learned all he needed to know about being a real pro at this sport. His father groomed him himself and taught him everything he knew. Imagine the secrets we will never know that this kid knows already? All that's in his way is the amount of time he wants to put into this. If he works hard Im sure he can win the Olympia one day. He definitely has the genetics from his father.

I remember seeing videos on Youtube of Sergio Jr. and Labrada's son working out together. Sergio jr. looked bigger than he ever looked.

Last time He competed , he looked like this in 2014 where he stood 3rd at the Jr. Nationals Superheavy class
good legs , needs more overall mass IMO. Has a good frame. but not quite enough to make it big... yet
and ofcourse
Wil look crazy as he adds more mass.
From what I have read , he started training in 2004 . His father , Sergio Oliva Sr. was actually against him training with weights. Not only did he not want Jr. to compete, he didn't even want him to start working out .
He is a tall man [in bodybuilding sense] 6'0" with contest weight 250 lbs { acc. to labrada.com } .
He isn't even a pro yet , no where near the top bodybuilding scene and I don't think he will even appear at the O anytime soon, let alone win. But there is huge potential.Honours in Physics

That's the problem. Great genetics of all kinds are anomalies. Arnold and Sergio were exceptionally gifted, so their kids will have above average genetics, but its doesn't mean that they are at their dads' level. Is like saying that geniuses must also have geniuses children. Probably they will be smart, but not with IQ's off the chart.

He won't do anything of note. Pretty average physique and bad conditioning.

Has all the tools to make it, just has to have the desire and consistency to make a splash into the pro ranks.
Has all the tools that any top pro has to date.
I think Sergio Sr wanted to protect his son from disappointment, as Sr had a bitter relationship with the IFBB regarding placements ect....Smarten up? NO! SPARTAN UP!

To me Sergio = Brandon Curry with with worse muscle bellies/insertions. Has very high lats.
He has much better legs than Curry though.
He can still do well if he packs on a ton of size but I don't see Olympia potential in him.
I think Sergio Jr. had a lot of resentment towards his father and they didn't have a very good relationship seems like.
In interviews he said his father didn't help him whatsoever and was not supportive at all.
I think they reconciled shortly before Sergio Sr.'s death however.*Korean Crew*

I have to say I spoke too soon about Sergio Jr.
He's made massive gains, he's looking absolutely beastly recently.
If he keeps gaining at this pace he can do some damage if he brings up his weak areas.
Definitely got his father's arm genetics.

Yeah he has made some good gains, and will be competing in July. I think he was talking about starting prep in an IG post. There are some younger and better pros already on the scene, and he will have to work really hard to be a top pro anytime soon. He still needs 3-4 years to be of significance imo ( assuming he earns the pro card this time ).

The bellies in his arms are very Phil-like, really full and he has some thick forearms. He also has some solid legs already.
I think the real question will be how much and how quickly he can bring his back and chest up, his weak areas. I think he has relatively high lat insertions like Dennis Wolf which will be a disadvantage.
All that being said he's made a surprising amount of progress in a short amount of time.*Korean Crew*
