    Shoulder pain

I've had a pain in my right shoulder/upper arm for about 2 weeks, I'm not sure of when or how it happened.
The pain occurs when I lift my arm over my head and move it and when I put my arm out straight and twist it.
I can still DB shoulder press if I keep the tension on the weight, I can't bring the weight all the way down.
I just want to know if anyone knows specifically whats wrong and If it will ever heal, I've searched the internet and it seems it might be Shoulder Impingement but, my main question is can shoulder injuries like this heal and can my shoulder go back to normal? Thanks.

I'm going through some BS shoulder injury myself and all i have to say is, just take a couple of weeks off and when you return to the gym just don't over do it. At the beginning of my shoulder injury i ignored it and I kept lifting hard because i didn't think it was a big deal but i just made it worse.

It's kinda tough to diagnose your issue over the Internet and without having any diagnostic testing done.

There are so many things that can go wrong in the shoulder, pinpointing the problem can be hard without an MRI. Could be bursitis, impingement, rotator cuff strain/tear, labral tear, etc.

Any painful clicking or popping? Weakness? Loss of ROM? Any other symptoms? Where exactly do you feel the pain?

No clicking or popping at all, No weakness. If I stretch my arm across my chest like this:

I can't push it the whole way into my chest like I can my with my left arm because it's painful to do, That's the only problem I have with my ROM.
It feels like the pain is on the side of my arm/shoulder.

Its likely just a strain, no reason to think that it's something more serious at this point.

Avoid any upper body lifts for a few weeks, ice it a few times every day, and take an NSAID as needed. Then ease back into the gym with a shoulder rehab protocol to see how it feels. Keep the weights light.

I'm hoping it's just a strain, I'm going to do as you said and hopefully it'll get better, I'll post in this thread if it gets any better, Thanks for your help man.
