    How does this work?

How does this movement work the Serratus Anterior? It just doesn't seem like it would.

(i was thinking about doing this but i don't know, it looks kind of odd)
and what exactly is a dream, and what exactly is a joke?

your basically holding the weight in the air and doing shrugs but pushing the weight rather than pulling it up.

One of the movements that the serratus anterior does is protraction of the scapulothoracic joint. For example, when doing pushups you extend you triceps fully to reach the top, but if you push even more you can still raise yourself. That last final push is your serratus anterior protracting your scapulae.
