People recommend starting strength for us ectomorphs (undereaters).
However, when reading SS, "Yes, you can. If you follow the program properly, while gaining bodyweight, you will gain muscle and size. However, SS is a strength routine, if you are primarily after looks and not strength or performance you may want to venture into the Workout Programs section and look for All Pro's simple beginner's routine. It is currently in a sticky at the top of the forum. "
So, the question is.
Which advice should I follow ? As I'm primarily after looks.

Even though your just after looks i still believe SS is a very good routine for people like you. All you really need to do is throw some assistance exercises like curls, pullups, tricep extensions, lateral raises and calf raises. I've done the routine twice myself so i know what kind of body you get from it. By doing those assistance exercises you should get a more balanced body
